i have a 5870 which supports this setup, i wanted to do it just to get the menus off my main screen

That's actually my only qualm, the start menu is WAY off to the far right, I have to turn my head all the way over to see it properly. It'd be nice if it were re-positionable.

That's the issue, since it make it looks like one giant monitor. MS would have to make it moveable or someone would need like a skin/theme program or some such to move it. Part of why I stick to the one large monitor, ie:

Wow, it looks REALLY small in the picture for some reason. Maybe because the computer case on the left is so big, I was using it as a size comparrison.

Yes, that's a Danger Den LDR-29 Double Wide. It's 29" tall.

This would be ideal. Or just have a box appear in the middle of the screen with menu options, and that way you could drag it where ever you wanted.

Try something like Slider Dock. I bind the hide/show command to a mouse key, works well.
