    nVidia surround is awesome!!!

After some snags, I finally got FFXIV running on nVidia surround. I have 3x 28" monitors for a total resolution of 5760x1200, and hte game runs AMAZINGLY!!! I reccomend it to everyone.

And before people say "onry for people with more money than brainz!!1!!111" I did it on a budget for under $1500.

    Here's a video:

I'm surprised more people don't do it. Apparently all you need is an ati 5850 with eyefinity, or any 2 nvidia cards of a decent number, and any 3 monitors that support the same resolution.

holy poop that is the video card I have (ATI 5850) .....must get... two more... LCDs.......

my PC is pretty strong, but I never have run it to its max yet.....

I honestly would just want to do this, so all my chat and UI stuff would be on the two other screens, and my center would be nothing but gameplay and the action bar ^.^

Just keep in mind that a single 5850 might have trouble handling the game at "good" settings with Eyefinity. Also if one of your monitors isn't DisplayPort capable you'll need an active display port adapter.

True, however going from low settings across the board to high settings, there's a big difference, but low settings is still damned goodlooking. My laptop has a gtx260m and i run low settings and it looks pretty nice still.

And i'm pretty sure you can get displayport to HDMI/DVI off ebay for under $5.

It has to be an active adapter, not passive. While they're not exactly expensive, they're not $5 cheap either.

Why did taking screenshots suck? I linked a few and they were amazing. Also, though, I use fraps for screenshots.

Active Displayport to HDMI for $9.98, sorry I was close.

Then do it. It's worth it. But get identical screens. I had to put 2 hdd's under my one screen because htey're different model hanns.g 28" lcd's, sot hey don't "match".

You can also get a 6870 for like $150, which is a pretty decent upgrade.

if I do it, I would take all three screens apart and build a custom holder for them, I am odd like that ;p
