I think going by playtime is sort of meh for defining what different types of character are. Personally I prefer describing it by what they intend to clear rather than how much they play. So for example casual players don't do endgame, core players do 'easy endgame', hardcore players do all PvE content regardless of how difficult it is, then top players are those 99-100% fflog grinders (basically top 100 or top 200 players). That said this delineation doesn't say anything about skill, more about intent (I've not cleared O4S yet but I still consider myself fairly hardcore even if my static isn't), but words like casual and hardcore are pretty meaningless in games anyways.

One day I'll be the MT mountain I want to be... But that day is not today. (As of Patch 3.2)
I want to chime in here just to say that people should really stop tossing around "casual" and "hardcore." The terms have become so ubiquitous that they've lost all meaning at this point.
Pass the popcorn. This may be the funniest thread I've read in months. Of course raiders should get their own things. Why even play if they don't?I'm here to read posts, eat popcorn, giggle at OP's silliness and read all the valid answers. It is like they never played mmorpgs when they were still newish and learning and had stuff that had requirements. Like 2.0's EX requirements. 'w' Like WoW's reputation requirement with certain factions in BC to get into harder dungeons, etc. You earn it. That is all I'm gonna say. -goes back to eating popcorn-
Lol agreed. TFW casual players (who were supposed to be the ones "angry" at the content being locked) are the ones defending it. This thread is such a joke. OP all you have is some false indignation at a logical decision made by the devs. You reply with the same nonsense every single time: "Everyone should be able to enjoy all content." Which is a very generic statement. You provide no solution to the change you want. How are people supposed to filter out folks in PF? The [Duty Complete] tag only works for farming stuff, not prog. I'm quite sure OP put up the thread as bait and got "offended" when people called him out on it.
Also, just to clarify, I'm a casual player. No problems whatsoever with Ultimate being locked behind O4S.

The statement that such and such has become ubiquitous and that it has lost it's original meaning has also lost its meaning. Tired of reading this sentence in every single debate or argument.
If they can't pull their weight in Omega savage due to a disability or whatever reason really, then why on earth would such a person have a burning desire to go to *even harder* content where they know full well they're only going to be a liability?
That would be an awful experience for them.
You shouldn't be baffled, this was known for the longest time that you have to cleared the savage tier as the price of admission. Besides, do you really want people who can't even bring enough DPS to down O4S Neo ExDeath or not close to i340 BiS before going into Ultimate?
I'll bet they will tune this instance to i340 minimum that way it's a level playing field for everyone who has cleared. People who can't even clear O3S have no access to i340 weapons for-example, do you want those people with Susano and plain tome weapons? Probably not.
Those 3 posts sums up pretty well.
And to be honest, Omega 4 Savage (Neo Exdeath included) is fairly easy. Even average players like me can do it, even with random people from partyfinder (its just a matter of time). So... if people dont manage to get through O4S, why in the name of the twelfe should those people join a even harder content? For fun?
Bahamut Super Savage/Ultimate/Fatal/Turbo Ultra Championship Edition/whatever is meant to be hard. Harder than Omega 4 Savage. You wont do yourself a favor, if you open the gates for everyone.

Seriously guys why do you want to go to an extreme raid eversion if you can't defeat O3S or O4S ? the only thing you will do is to trash seriously roster/ls .
If you can't beat Oméga savage forget something witch is at tousand miles away difficult
I'm very disturbed by the prevailing mindset that attempting something beyond one's abilities is somehow pointless. Throwing oneself off the deep end can lead to eye-opening learning experiences. Attempting things you aren't "supposed" to be able to clear will also help you learn, especially about approaches to the game that are significant, but often ignored due to their seeming irrelevance to the mainstream gameplay.
