Why must people complain about Yo-Kai?

So...obviously, there's been quite a few threads from players who are complaining about the Yo-Kai event popping up. It hasn't even been a full 24 hours and you'd think that the devs nerfed all the jobs in order to make Summoner the only DPS capable of clearing Omega Savage. I don't get it. It wasn't too long ago that a lot of players had been posting here and in the forums about how dead it felt with not having anything going on. Now we have a 2-month event that should increase activity. Not only that, but it isn't like you are being forced to take part in the event.

Also...if you recall, Stormblood brought in a lot of new subscriptions, so for a lot of players, this is the first time getting this event. Personally, I don't mind having something else to do. I actually enjoy the fact that I don't need to be grinding 24/7 to clear this event. I enjoy that I have plenty of time to grind a new job in something other than POTD.

My thing is, why are players complaining? Considering that it literally popped up less than a few days after the Level 5 CEO mentioned this, I think it's pretty impressive. Personally, I want to see more of these limited-time events that I missed before I started playing FFXIV.

Because this Yo-kai rubbish is childish fantasy. What kind of a shut-in weirdo would enjoy such a thing? I don't want my dragons, robots, knights, and catgirl succubus harlots interacting with this nonsense, I'm an adult!

I couldn't care less that they brought it back. It's an event that was a MAJOR time sink for people that didn't have much else to do. I also got everything before the original event finished, so that's another part of me not caring. Just a little sad they didn't bring out two more minions and weapons(for RDM and SAM)

People always need something new to complain. So when every legit subject to complain is already taken #inventoryCongestion #glamourLog they look for something new and spit on it.

Because the Yokai event is an enormous grind utilizing one of the reviled features in the game (FATEs) and people felt it was a fairly lazy implementation. Having done the event previously, I can attest it's absolutely awful. The RNG will leave you farming the same low level areas for potentially hours. Now this may benefit players who have jobs they've ignored but for those with everything above even 30 it means you're essentially getting nothing out of the grind until the medals drop. Lucky Bancho's census last years shows just how much people detested the event. Out of 507,722 active characters 65% didn't even bother to get a single minion. The weapons has less numbers than Midas Savage clears.

It's among the reasons Diadem 2.0 flopped. People simply dislike FATEs yet the devs seem to frequently fall back on them when they're out of ideas. Thus, you see the negative responses. Now do I care it was brought back? Not at all. I'll still call it the worst piece of content they ever released though.

It is atmas and everyone hates those. Also semi lore breaking, don't you go upsetting the lore people it is a holy word that must be protected. I don't care what weapon/mount/glamour/minion someone has, but lore is serious business to a large percentage of this player base. They didn't like it the first time around. Why do you think they would like it a second time?

People love events... except when it involves camping FATES. The devs rely on this way too often, and most folks (myself included) are seriously tired of them. That is the reality. And the people that are doing them now that missed it the first time? Ask them after they are done if they would do it all over again, and count how many no's come up.

Im gona use it to do old arr relics now that its back have no intrest in the event itself the mount and the weapons look horrible to me
