My counter to the last two posts are - how many new players who weren't around for the 1st Yo-Kai event and are registered to the forums (plenty of us here, as shown in Tales from the duty finder) are complaining, though? Mostly seems like players who participated in the original event are complaining. Why? It's not a requirement, and again, I'd say it's pretty impressive that this event was brought back just a couple days after the Level 5 CEO mentioned he wanted to complete his collection. I would prefer the devs focus their attention on fixing summoner and finish with their work on 4.1, rather than splitting time off to create a brand new event.

I'm cheering for them when they do this, honestly. ATMA sucked at the time, but now that I'm trying to level things again, I appreciate this content more and find this to be a great boon. I do find it annoying that no higher-level areas are included to ease the grind to 50/60, but prior to this I had the option to either solo FATEs, or slog through instanced group content (which, beyond PotD [sick of that] I will simply not run as a Tank/Healer)

Since side-quests are sparse and give piddling XP, FATEs are the best leveling content in the game to me, and are the only thing that currently gives any life to the overworld, so grindy as this may get, I welcome the influx of people.

I completed the event on the first time it were released, it were a pain to complete it but i liked the end result ^^

At first you look at the numbers and you go crazy saying that it's impossible to do that and you just want to give up. But i did a spreadsheet, planned everything in advance, set some daily goals and I finally got my prize. It were kind of a personal achievement for me o.o

I obviously wouldn't do it again, but it were something that i conquered for myself with dedication and i'm proud of it XD

Hmm, grind fates, get cartoon-y minions....okay, not my thing, but sure, I guess some people would be into it.

Grind more fates, get cartoon-y weapon skins....nah, doesn't seem worth it when better weapon skins are more easily attainable.

Grind even more fates, get a mount that looks like....yeah, I'll just pretend it's a ghost....

Grind way more fates, get the same mount, but glows in the dark....okay, I can't take this seriously anymore. You'd have to waste so much time to get what's less of a mount and more of a joke involving blacklights--oh, I get it....

I don't mind it at all. I didn't do it last year but have time to burn this year. Since I skipped a lot of the Fates as I leveled it is also a good way to get the item drops or enablement that some provide (minions, music rolls, etc).

Stop spreading this misinformation. Daidem 2.0 main problems were tied to reward distribution not the fact that they used FATEs. You got far more rewards in the first 15 minutes by completing mission than you could get farming fates in that time. Daidem 2.0 died out because players would either AFK in the zone waiting for the Emergency Mission and/or Star Boss FATEs or leave once the base mission was done so they could repeat the mission as soon as possible.

I did began playing FF14 a bit later than the previous yo-kai event. After hearing of it so much, especially coming from people who got disgusted of the game and even stopped their subscription because of the too much fates farming, i sure am glad to see it myself now, ty SE for bringing that back

But if the drop rates are the same as the last event, i dont see what is so awful about it. Judging by what i got today, even if the last weapons cost more than the first ones, two months seems more than enough to get all the items at a casual pace in the long run, by dedicating it one hour here and here. Seems like to me that some people burned out themselves by wanting to go way too fast.

That being said i am more into the open maps content (fates doesn't annoy me at all) and i was used in the past to way worst grind-based mmos where you were killing the same mob again and again during 100+ hours to gain a single level. Might explain why this event doesn't look that bad to me.

I just think the event should have been for another game, rather than having the same one repeated. Games like Nier Automata or FFXV would have been far more interesting to cross over. They would have made more sense, too, since they're all under Square Enix. The Yo-Kai Watch event is just a repeat and doesn't seem like anything changed; they didn't even add weapons for SAM and RDM. I never did it, because it looks uninteresting and didn't fit FFXIV on an aesthetic level. More power to those who didn't get to complete it the first time, but I couldn't get into it.

I dont mind if they redo Yokai again.

I am not interested in the mount, nor i am going to use the weapons so i kinda farmed the Yokai i wanted to have at the time. And while i am with you, that this is an oportunity for people who were not playing at the time to play the event... Why not do the same with Shantotto for example? Or another event for that matter? As i have always understood, events like this are one time thing that never happens again. The items then are placed on the Mog Station, Lighting event cloth/weapons being an example. In the Yokai event, the items never saw the MS and we are having the event again this year.

So, for one part i dont mind it because i feel like a new oportunity for those who want to complete it. On the other hand, if they can do it with a thing like Yokai... Well, why not other events?

The Lightning event was rerun. I'm pretty sure the Shantotto and DQX events were rerun as well.
I think the second FFXI event was the only tie-in that hasn't come back again.

If they want to bring any of those back again though, I'd be down with that.
