Did you miss the "among the reasons" part of that statement, which implies there were multiple factors? It isn't misinformation since it did contribute to people dislike as FATEs remain a detest from of content.Stop spreading this misinformation. Daidem 2.0 main problems were tied to reward distribution not the fact that they used FATEs. You got far more rewards in the first 15 minutes by completing mission than you could get farming fates in that time. Daidem 2.0 died out because players would either AFK in the zone waiting for the Emergency Mission and/or Star Boss FATEs or leave once the base mission was done so they could repeat the mission as soon as possible.
Why must I complain about yokai?
*personal opinion incoming*
Because it's an annoying cheap *** pokémon ripoff that somehow picked up steam.
I'd take a pokémon even over this yokai junk any day.
These things are like pokémon and Digimon had offspring then beat them with an ugly stick for the first 5 years of their life.
Seriously
Pokemon>Digimon>yugioh(I'd ride a blue eyes) >cheap Chinese ripoff>bakugan>yokai
This is why u personally complain.
Of course it's my choice and so I won't touch this event.
Side note, please replay shantotto. I'd love to get that minion. Or add her to the cash shop please, take my money.
People complain about everything...
But to be fair the event the first time was so horrible and made me hate FATEs even more than before.
They put it back again and I'm not surprised it's still the same thing. I don't really care that they added it back.
I just hope they don't make events this bad again though.
I did the entire grind for all weapons and mount last year.
I am happy that I do not have to do this again....

Because the Yokai event is themed around forcing people to grind through the one piece of content that the majority of the community dislike (FATEs), for hours on end, killing ladybugs, mushrooms, landtraps et al.
There is a reason Diadem 2.0 failed, and the atma step was one of the most resented steps in the ARR relics.
SE's constant desire to force their horrible attempt at "dynamic events" (FATEs) down people's throats is literally hell in Eorzea.
FATEs are absolutely fine in extremely small doses. To do a couple of "quests" that help you get the last slither of your level, or to do a few while you're waiting for a DPS queue.. However forcing us to continually grind them for hours and hours is part of what makes people hate them so much.
Make the medals a guaranteed drop after 5 FATEs in a zone, with RNG that you can get them sooner. The event would probably be more well recieved.
Attempting to carrot people to grind for hours, based purely on RNG is horrible design. It means that doing it for 5 hrs means you're no better off than if you have been doing it for 10 minutes, if you still haven't got the drop - is just not the way to go with FATEs...
Reward a "Legendary Token Fragment" for every FATE... 5 of those fragments mesh together to give you the token that you need.
So yes, that is why people hate the Yokai event.
The most regurgitated, least-well-received content in the game paired with an extremely low RNG.

I am of two different opinions here. The RNG is horrendous, and yes, grinding FATEs endlessly isn't exactly what I would call fun. But here's the thing...when are you forced to do anything? You could easily just ignore the event. The event posting in the Lodestone shows exactly what the weapons look like. And nobody said anybody had to farm this thing out in one day. It's open for 24 hours - why are players rushing to get their legendary medals? Now, please don't misconstrue what I'm getting at - I'm sure there are legitimate grievances about Yo-Kai.
That being said, I would love to experience the Shantotto and Lightning Returns event. But we have Yo-Kai, and it's giving players something to do. At this point in the development cycle, is it really a good idea to pull some staff away to work on a brand new event while we're gearing up for 4.1? Or is it easier to just throw in an event - I'm not yelling, but I'm putting this in caps to emphasize a point - THAT WAS MENTIONED ONLY JUST A FEW DAYS AGO, PROBABLY SOMETHING THAT WASN'T EVEN PLANNED ORIGINALLY.
how can people not hate this event? Yo-kai event items are harder to get than any other pure cosmetic items in this game which already rubs people in a wrong way.
you grind all your jobs to Lv50 via FATE in the 2.0 era (before total EXP adjustment).... which took LOT of time... then all your character to Lv60 via more FATEs...then SE asked you to take your fully leveled character and grind another 700~800 FATES for nothing but cosmetic items within 2~3 months time period...
people arguing 800 fates in 2~3 months is nothing... please.. take a closer look at your own life. you got issue. some people were getting nothing after 10~15 FATE clears and you still gonna shovel that 30% drop rate in their faces.
THEN told you to throw your leftover medals away after the event only to bring back the even the very next year with THE SAME LOW DROP RATE.... that's adding insult on the injury.

Yo-kai sucks. The show sucks, the minions suck, the weapons are meh and the mount is atrocious. The design of the event is one of the worst I've seen. In no way, shape or form should the event be encouraged. it should be rightfully reviled, so that so SE stops designing things so stupidly. Also, Yo-Kai Watch sucks.
I can't even be bothered to do these sleazy events that se has been vomiting out so far.
I don't mind the minion grind and getting the first 3-4 Yokai weapons. Totally fine with that since I'm used to this sort of grind in other games. When it comes to events, I prefer those that don't take a lot of time (like Rising or Moonfire Faire) or where you only need to go all out for several hours and then move on to other things.
Getting all the weapons though... what a ridiculous grind. The weapons are ugly and so is the mount. I'd never use them when there are more appealing glamours available. I'm definitely not planning on getting all the weapons. Hopefully I'm not the only one... I'm actually curious about the proportion of players who have obtained all weapons and the glowing Whisper mount.
