Saying something is worthless except for half the content people play this game for.. is a little silly don't you think?

As someone who has never exceeded 7-10 mil in this game for 4 years.
(I don't craft...or rather can't thanks to the space but thats nothing topic lol.)
Gil isn't all that worth much. I had dumped 2 mil into my Cafe/Apartment a few months ago.
If houses were more available, it would be a nice Gil dump for a lot of people.
But alas, not everyone had the luxury to own a house...So you're lucky.

Oh so very lucky! I do enjoy the everliving stuffing out of my small house and hope, now that i've saved enough to upgrade when kugane opens up, to move on to even bigger things!
If you had more Gil you COULD probably buy a house though, there are always 'flippers" with housing lots available for excessive amounts.
I'm just agog at someone who'd say it's worthless when enough of it could get you almost anything your little heart desires in this game including Savage completion.

I might add: Crafting itself just slows with limited inventory, I capped out all my professions at 60 with no extra retainers, and I'm on my way to do it again soon (although I have now caved and have an extra 2 retainers) . I mainly waited so the market prices would die down from the insanity at expansion launch.

Here is the other thing, I do not believe I have enough to be fair for everyone, I do not have enough time as a single person to fund the whole server. Plus with the people I find in DF etc, I do not know who would truly appreciate the help. Ill help those that ask for it and make reasonable deals, but I do not have enough time in the day to be a 1 person charity. Things have a cost, time, and it is up to me to put that in a number of gil for people.

Calling gil worthless is not silly, it is a fact, it can buy some things, as we both said glams, housing, etc but there is not enough gil sinks in the game.

See like this, people have no motivation to GAIN GIL because THERE IS NO POINT. that is why the game has a bad encon. The general populace is going to flock to the path of least resistance, or path least boring for them. Since needing gil is so low, on a general scale, people are not going to go and earn it, since they do not need to. Right now you have unlimited tokens for 310 gear, and that is plenty for most people, while getting free shinny higher gear at limited amount, so why farm gil when you do not need to? Most people as in a general scale just collect the gil they get from dailies, completing dungeons etc and even they have a bigger surplus then what should be happening.

This just simply shows that the OP is narrow minded and only likes specific content. Just what are you even expecting by selfishly dismissing PvP as content, and claiming to want "proper content" as if you know what you're talking about (which I don't think you do because you came into a FF game and not realize that STORY has and always will be a focus for the FF franchise, not to mention again.. dismissing PvP as content.)

how can you call 1 map (I only see one ever doing frontline dailies) with having severe balance issues while feast has no chat content? The PvP in this game is beta stage at best. It is fun to do once in a while but acting like it is a lot there is a bit off don't you think?

You forgot a minor statement in my post..

I was being facetious about giving me your Gil, I am very happy to hear you would have tried if I was on your server though, it gives me some hope for humanity.

My main point was, for all you say that it's worthless I can find something "I" want to do with every last scrap of Gil you have. The only reason I have any "savings" as it were at the moment is for the possibility I can grab a Large/medium house with the wards opening soon. Up until housing came out I would almost instantly burn down any money I had over 1 or 2 Million (a decent amount to buy any new items that hopped up or perhaps a minion that got implemented) into crafting mats or new gear and on and on. Once I had a GOAL: a house, I made sure I built up the money to grab a house if it popped up (which it eventually did) and continued to save to maybe upgrade if the chance presented itself.
There is currently no point.. to YOU.. of saving Gil. I can immediately think of several things I would do with excess wealth ingame. I'm happy you get to "Scrooge Mcduck" it up and swim in your money, but I've got plans for mine.
