Yeah, you're right. I don't really want content to be gear driven either, but it definitely provides a big incentive to keep doing the content they release. I'd like it if they released more zones and allowed that to be our rewards for some content, mix up the rewards a bit. I dislike having to trash my hard earned items every time a new instance comes out, I hope they'll adopt a "horizontal progression style" like in XI when the level cap was 75.

Being able to choose from so many activities to get gear from was amazing: salvage, limbus, dynamis, crafting, nms, etc etc. Giving players the choice on how to gear yourself is what I want because it's fun. If they make crafting superior to everything, that takes away the choice for a lot of us.
