When the actual facts of the situation were released you fell from the high you hyped yourself up to based on your false assumption. thats no ones fault but yours.

When they announced "jobs" they very specifically said :

    Jobs
The job system - that series-defining trademark - will be implemented in FINAL FANTASY XIV (details such as specific jobs TBA). Quests to unlock each job will become available once you have reached a certain rank in the corresponding class.
Rather than being advanced versions of classes, we would like players to think of jobs as specialized playing styles optimized for partying. While playing as a particular job will render you unable to equip certain actions of other classes, you will be compensated with access to exclusive actions, which can be acquired through quests.

This was released in may, here on the lodestone. Right after the fact that jobs would be released. If you falsely assumed that this would some how relate to a Hunter/Ranger bow oriented job, you were off base to make that assumption and are wrong to blame anyone besides yourself.
Your right except I and others had their archer to 50 long long long before this game even started to talk about specialized jobs. So now i'm going to say this again as someone who was playing archer from the begin. There was no assumption on my part they seem to be taking a job that was purely damage dealer and turning into a support job A FULL YEAR AFTER the game has been released. It just doesn't make sense.
