Just that using the voice channels to get an advantage is generally frowned upon, and people call you out for doing it on said discord (if we talk about the same discord), atleast on Chaos.

Discord is a tool outside of SE they can only control their end it's not rocket science to figure that out. That is more of a player based issue using a third party tool. IF SE can't prove it they can't band that goes for any company. Discord and SE are two separate entities. The only way to prevent anything would be to get rid of PvP. Of course people would just complain.Uh, do you actually they still don't do this? There is a whole discord server dedicated to PvP where people can get on voice. All removing the chat in-game did was give those discord players an enormous advantage because some people can't handle others saying mean things on the Internet. Feast has been largely a joke since that decision, and it doesn't sound like it's improved.
I do PvP and just get disappointment. This Feast really got me interested based on the incentives. So I only have one choice. Instead of complaining I adapt to my battles best I can. No point in complaining, I just see it as a handicap. Do I get frustrated yes, will I blame the SE for the actions of other people that ruin the game? No it's pointless. Do I trust SE judgement on their actions? I do, if I step back and look at the bigger picture it makes sense. It may not to many and if you think about it more it just ruins the game. If people really do hate it why not gather the masses and refuse to participate? Everyone pays their fees, if their integrity is that low I'm glad they can lie to themselves and believe they have earned what they have won.

Most of the outrage is more along the lines of having newer players jumping into pvp AND not being able to teach them right from wrong, If you're not being told you're doing something bad you'll eventually think it's the right thing to do and continue doing it.I do PvP and just get disappointment. To the comment about refusing to participate, I'm sure most would be incredibly bored if not for pvp. There's still only 2 trials that are easier than some of the ones in HW and by now most people have this raid tier on farm now.

You missed the point entirely. The advantage of Discord is somewhat assuaged were chat reinstated. Right now, we're dependent on silly phrases that rarely follow along specific strategies. New players have no idea what to do and veterans couldn't help them even if they want to. The devs want PvP to be taken seriously-- even citing e-sports. There is no competitive e-sports I know that restricts chat like this.Discord is a tool outside of SE they can only control their end it's not rocket science to figure that out. I understand what you fail to comprehend is that Discord is a third party tool. I'm sorry but people can't understand simple phrases on what to do then seems like a comprehension problem. Good old education. You missed the point entirely. The advantage of Discord is somewhat assuaged were chat reinstated. Newer players key words. Lets break that up, can you force anyone to read an instruction manual? Can you force anyone to look up information? It's all based on their actions. What you can do , IF an FC is productive is teach or mentor. People want to help, yet no one is willing to ask outside of PvP battles. It's all based on their decision and actions which of course people are afraid to do.If they pay their fee they are welcome to play any way they want. I have teamed up with people after battle from same server and we discuss the information if I see them struggling, if I see them at least trying I take my time and give them a few tips. IF I see they have potential. Sometimes I get tells asking me for help. Once again is all based on the choices we make and the actions we take. Can't help it if common sense is dead. Most of the outrage is more along the lines of having newer players jumping into pvp AND not being able to teach them right from wrong, If you're not being told you're doing something bad you'll eventually think it's the right thing to do and continue doing it.

How do you tell someone specifically the one with 50 medals to get the medals? Usually those are the ones who ignore the spam.
How do you tell a tank to not get medals when they were already at 200 medals? Usually they ignore it and get 300 and wonder why the healer can't keep them alive.
How do you specifically tell the melee dps to not follow the bait and break our healers LoS?
That's absurd, they're welcome to play TRAINING anyway they want. RANKED is for WINNING, not BABYSITTING THE GUY WHO DOESN'T KNOW HOW TO PVP LOOKING TO GET CARRIED.Newer players key words. Chance of me finding someone on my server that needs help with pvp are slim, I'm not going to make an alt on a different server just to tell information I could have said in game.

The idea that people can play any way they want because they pay a subscription fee has always been ridiculous. Ignorance is not a valid excuse to sabotage the enjoyment and progress of other players without there being repercussions and consequences. Square Enix have pushed themselves into a corner, too, by disallowing people the ability to actually offer constructive criticism to problematic players in an effort to just sweep glaring issues under a rug under the pretense of PvP being 'toxic' when in reality FFXIV's PvP is far from the worst in terms of toxicity when compared to many other competitive games out there.
It's a weird situation all around. Even those of us who want to offer constructive advice and help out new or inexperienced players in PvP are unable to do so because we cannot communicate efficiently and effectively with them. Given how important teamwork is in 4vs4 to say that such limitations are ridiculous would be a massive understatement.
