What's with all these people single-targetting during big pulls in dungeons?

The last two roulettes I have run, the other DPS (both of them melee) are sitting at full TP, and single targetting mobs when there have been 10+ mobs on the tank. Furthermore, I am bottomed out, with Invigorate on CD and no Goad, even though I politely asked for it.

Please guys, when there are 4 or more mobs, it's just better to use your job's AoE skills. You're contributing only a tiny fraction of the damage, as a DPS class, if you're single targeting during big pulls.

In addition to this, take the TP regen utility skill (Goad & Tactician) if you're a physical DPS and the other player is also a physical. Keep an eye on their TP bar during big pulls, and use the skill when they are at about 50% TP.

Every job has AoE skills. Please use them.

Well of course, but I am just hoping even 1 person who uses single target skills in these cases reads this thread and changes their bad habit.

Or maybe they didn't want big pulls. Lots of dps won't complain when tanks pull 10 mobs but still kill one at a time. This is the same conversation, just phrased different.

    Wot?

Why would a DPS have issues with being in an efficient party?

Because for some jobs their AoE rotation is incredibly boring especially not at max level.

Logical, but DPS players have their responsibilities of burning down mobs ASAP as much as Healers keeping everyone topped off and Tanks drawing aggro away from the party, whether they like it or not.

Some people, including Tanks & Healers, don't like big pulls as well. However, dungeon designs force them to encounter such situations, like the big pack of robot crawlers you encounter in the early parts of Doma Castle.

It's fine if one wants to voice out their preference for pulls, but when the situation calls for AoE due to the aforementioned, one must also adapt.

On that note, why do some RDM's not use Enchanted Moulinet and instead focus on trying to use VerHoly/Flare after Scatter spamming?

It depends on the job they are really. In my case I main Ninja so naturally if there are enough enemies for me to Death Blossom for higher dps then I will, but I also have to maintain Huton as well, and I can do so and stretch my TP a bit by throwing out the occasional Armor Crush combo while allowing myself to fling Katons and/or lay down Dotons still.

I totally agree with you but in terms of why people do that I feel like my answer was still a valid one. Is it right for the group and situation? Of course not.
