if it's a bannable offence it will encourage more people to do it privately, since it won't be reported if it's amongst themselves, and would only get reported if they decided to erp in public areas, as it's no secret that some people do erp in public chat/areas

Definitely agree with that. I've been ERPing for at least 4 years at this point, never been reported. Why? Because it's among friends and closed circles. Never bring it up where it's not welcome, ever. If people don't want to engage in it, it's not my place to force them in a position where they have to.
Who are all these people that are apparently ERPing in public areas? I've literally never seen this.
I don't think it's weird or wrong to RP in public regardless of server. Most servers are dead in /say chat and RP'ers would make the dead zone alive again. Reporting them for it is beyond words, just play a 1-player game if you don't like it. The one thing I'm frustrated about is the fact when I encountered a black mage. Holy macros he was like "I, member of Fairy Tail, shall vanquish this evil with my Thunder 1" so he kept spamming that ability. I mean ik that laxus is a thunder mage but my god don't use thunder and thunder 2 and 3 the whole dungeon run lol. Then again I did meet a Dark Knight that used Bankai whenever she went into darkside mode lol in the end it was 23 bankais during one of the expert dungeons.
to clarify (since you apparently need it), i said that erp should be bannable, meanwhile normal rp is fine.
you realise that not everyone who does rp or erp is on balmung right?

Nothing against RP and ERP, aslong as its not used to harass other players.
99% of the time, the people who are "ERPing" in public are trolls that are being jerks just to make roleplayers bad. There are of course those exceptions, always, but more often than not, they're not actual roleplayers.
The problem is, when non-RPers see these people - they tend to just figure that they're normal roleplayers and have no idea of boundaries, so it leads to a lot of rumors about how RPers are.
Again - there are still actual roleplayers who are just creepy and gross and choose to ERP in public around people, but they're such an incredible minority of the overall community.
So I was solicited for ERP yesterday. Some random kept asking despite me saying no, so I logged out for a bit. It was a pretty weird experience :/
Please don't ask random people to ERP. Especially people who aren't even rping to been with.
