Is that what this sounds like to everyone else?
And why would addition of one of the most asked-for features in the game be an offhand remark following a question on a (mostly) unrelated subject?
I've seen that before, but I also saw them state that they were considering implementing a "glamour history" which makes me... less hopeful...
As for the latter, as generally dismissive as they've been toward it, I think they're going to undersell whatever it is they do until its done.
Most likely they don't want to say much about the development of it until they have already been working on it for quite some time. It's not good pr to go into great detail about a feature if there's not even an estimated release date. Doing that results in a lot of unhappy players if it gets delayed or cancelled.
Probably because they were talking about inventories(though specific to retainers) and glamours tend to take up a fairly large portion of said inventories.
Given their past attempts in implementing suggestions and content, specifically the orchestrion, underselling won't really help if they completely miss the mark on some form or overcomplicate it.I've seen that before, but I also saw them state that they were considering implementing a "glamour history" which makes me... less hopeful...

People have asked for glamour logs to be able to easily access their appearance settings and possibly set aside glamour choices for different jobs (especially for those that have entirely different thematics, like BRD/MCH and the tanks).
In the case of the orchestrion, it's implementation was needlessly tacked in that it sourced the bgm itself, and you'd essentially have to be in front of it to even hear it (and it was already lower in audio by default). People wanted a simple means to change their housing bgm and it was unnecessarily complicated for whatever reason.

Would not count on it..
Well, at least this time they referenced it being for "equipment you previously owned," suggesting it lets us glamour items without needing to still have them. So it's more than just a recent history that's only for quickly finding what you'd glamoured last. Of course, that detail isn't enough to let us know what limits if any there would be on it, and that's what will really determine whether it's useful or not.
Also, they're planning big changes to glamour and considering this previously-owned appearances feature. So that leaves me wondering what other big changes have made it past that "consider" threshold into "planning". The other most frequently requested glamour change (besides the glamour log) is the ability to glamour different appearances for different jobs that share the same gear. It would be really fantastic if that's the other big change they're working on.
Of course, it's also possible that they're working on something completely different, way over-complicated, and that nobody has ever asked for, and which will leave us all scratching our heads wondering why they'd waste time on it rather than doing any of the things people are clamoring for...
