Colored Chocobo? Instead of monster mounts?

Rarity or not, if they feel out of place to be rideable it doesnt matter if 1 or 1000 players have them on each server.
So if you ran around outside Uldah and suddenly someone rides past on top of an Ogre you would be okay with it as long as it was "rare" enough?

This has alot to do with immersion and staying inside the built up lore the game offers, straying to far from how we know the world works can break that for people who do care about the game world and take away from their enjoyment.

I'd be fine with special awards for thoose of us who choose to stay with the game until 2.0, however I wouldn't like them to be either all powerful game breaking items nor over the top silly things that just dont fit in very well(or more damn hats, we've got enough of thoose).

You're just arguing personal preference, then. Personally, I'm a huge lore buff, and I think it would be awesome to have a tamed Goobbue hanging around.

Also, not sure if you're aware of this, but the 3 mounts shown aren't confirmed or anything. They're just experimenting with possible player rewards for playing during these one time events.

To me an Ogre and a Goobue feels equaly misplaced to be rideable, its my personal belief yes, just as you liking them is yours

Yes I was sure this was a discussion of personal preference, so I added my opinion in the matter, and being confirmed or not, they've still been showcased thus making them up for discussion right?

As long as you're treating it as your opinion, then that's fine. You were making a lot of blanket statements and it felt like you were imposing your opinions as fact, so I thought I'd interject.

For the same reason, I pointed out that the example mounts weren't confirmed in case you or anyone else thought that they were in order to promote future discussion.

Little hint to Yoshi-P and the devs. They exists in pretty much all FF's. Way better then random evil mounts and brings out a "FF-esque" atmosphere.

The THM in Uldah CS has a hard time controling the Gobbue and we are gona ride em?

I think colored chocobos and customizable armor is more FF. Hell why not make em breedable and giving em diff appearance. (Ex: Bigger beak, more tail feathers, longer legs, smaller neck.)

Appealing to the FF fans is what is needed ~ Not copy/pasting other mmos.

(My opinion^_^)

1. THM in Ul'dah has no problem controlling the Gobbue. You knew why it happened.
2. The Gobbue was in the parade, because Gobbue is exotic to Thanalan, they come from La Noscea. They are not "hard" to control, more like "hard" to come by.
3. So we can ride bike and car alright (FFVII and VIII) and we can't ride monster?

Rather than having a distinctive mount, can't we have a distinctive something on our character? Like a tattoo or something hovering around the character, something that says "hey! I survive that moon fall, I must be really awesome".

Sure, riding an eye thing or a drake is really awesome too, but since some persons would prefer not having monster mounts... just saying!

The FF series is not all dark and serious. There's quite a bit of odd things and humor.

This game needs more interesting, fantastical things because the world is generally very bland, despite having a lot of colorful lore and history.

Its going to be wonderful seeing more moogles in this game.
