    I'm really not getting why anyone would call us support when one buff is party/raid wide, a 5% debuff is simply part of our basic rotation and the tether is a bad replacement for Internal Release.
    If we are going to be turned into a support class then give us actual party wide support that makes a major differance like a BRD. Half-assing a couple skills and slapping us with a support label does not a support make.

    Because you are forgetting about the most toxic ability to balance, which shackles the potentials of 3 classes and is the reason they are pushing for DRG to become weaker.

    If a class's worth comes from its contribution to others rather than it's damage then it is pretty much support. MCH/DRG/BRD are for certain since you don't bring these for DPS. You could argue RDM but even then it has good enough damage itself.

    It would have made more sense to make MCH do bludgeoning damage. Nerfing Disembowel and DRG's damage just because of other classes is always going to seem silly. Making MCH do blunt damage would also allow Monk to bring utility to specific compositions, so you could pick your choice of MCH+MNK or BRD+DRG, and there'd be actual variety in class composition as a result, especially because BRD-comps would maybe want a caster while MCH comps would want another physical damage dealer. It's a much more elegant solution than nerfing DRG outright is, especially when the current DRG design turns DRG into a support class for a class that is by design more of a support than DRG is.

    I really like the 4.05 DRG! I love how they made DRG a bit more mobile, I feel like the DPS is fair enough for the amount of utility the job has, its pretty fair and the skill ceiling for DRG is pretty high.

    the quality of life changes are very nice. i feel the dps is still a bit too low. i did a few deltascapes and was still behind everyone but summoner and machinist and my gear is full materia and ilvl 316. my numbers are where they should be so my rotation and skill is there.

    overall good changes, just needs a bit more i feel. mostly eyes falling off

    Playing 4.05 Dragoon feels kinda fluid right now with the animation changes to MD, as I no longer clip GCDs like before if I used it late. Getting our first LoTD sucks balls but after we get the first one it's sort of smooth until a long phase change. The 20s on BoTD is cool because if I'm at 13 seconds and use 4th and 5th, I would be at 21ish seconds (or if I popped BoTD cooldown, 23sec), which means 2 Nastrond. So previously, I would delay for another combo to get max duration. Now in the same situation I can pop BoTD at 13s, which boosts me to 20 and then my 4th and 5th boost me to about 27, which is perfect. Also when LoTD falls, I'm still at 20s, which is a bit more forgiving for dodging or failing mechanics in progression and getting petrified. I wonder if they'll make it so LoTD always grants full 30s to raise the skill floor. I mean it's not hard to get 3 Nastrond but sometimes mechanics cut into your BoTD timer like above (though popping a fresh CD of BoTD before doing your 4 and 5 assures 30s)

    That said, we still need to have our eyes addressed so they don't fall off when we lose BoTD and perhaps a way to get eyes faster by reducing SSD by a bit, or letting GK give us an eye. Just anything that helps us get eyes a bit faster.

    Dragoon feels good and we are drowning in oGCD damage with minimal animation lock (Jump still has movement lock, but weaving isn't an issue with if like it was in 3.0). Dragon Sight macro works first try without having to readjust my position to be on top of my partner too. These changes are a step in the right direction. I had a lot of fun with Dragoon last night. Our damage might still be low but that's easier to fix with potency increases and addressing the penalty of losing eyes.


    As an aside, 30s Elusive Jump is craaaazy good. It's up for nearly every mechanic that requires me to get out of the way.

    Agreed, though dying punishes DRG and SMN more than any other job. Whereas a NIN can Huton up and gain Ninki in like 10 seconds and MNK can GL3 in 3 GCDs with Perfect Balance, it still takes DRG 80s to get LoTD. Now that I think about it, giving us a long cooldown that fills our eyes completely, sort of DRG version of Manification/Perfect Balance/Infuriate would be sweet, maybe Dragonfire Dive?

    I mean how cool would it be to DFD after Chaos Thrust in our opener and then GK after Fang and Claw to enter LotD in the first 10s of the fight? Then if you die or lose eyes and DVD is coming up, hit it while in BoTD and bam, 4 eyes!
