It is because it is TOO GOOD that it outshines its brethren in Every. Single. Way.
And btw, if you're casting RDM's spells longer than your gcd, you're doing it wrong. The only time this is allowed is precast pull.
You're coming from the perception that RDM = well balanced and every other job is bad balanced, which isn't true. To balance all jobs they can't go with a buffing stick making everyone else stronger, that just creates power creep.RDM would be if BLM was balanced properly....If the nerfed classes were balanced we would be fine but if the nerfed classes are balanced but they nerf the already balanced classes then all they are doing is switching places and then we will be back at square one :/ where some classes are good and others are awfu( MCH)
It's a new job , and is very unlikely to be nerfed anytime soon. If anything did get adjusted it would most likely be dual-cast workings rather than damage directly. Being able to jolt raise, or heal with no down side may jar content difficulty slightly. I don't think players, or devs really have a problem with how rdm operates anyway so calm down.So i'm seeing a lot of post on this getting nerfed or that, i just wanted to make a formal plea for RDMs, PLEASE, PLEASE,PLEASE!! Do NOT nerf RDM, EVER!
I hope this gets to devs somehow because as it stands they are near perfect, even without powering up a RDM melee is about the same as a Monk's normal damage, magic is OP but takes a while to cast the powerful stuff. A good balance. And we have light healing and revive. A great Jack of all Trade class and a true justice to how it always has been.
With all the nerfs and stuff going on please for all that is good do not do it to RDM.
RDM isn't immune from nerfs just because it's new. NIN was introduced in 2.4 and got some noticable nerfs in 2.45 (TP increase to Aeolian Edge + Shadow Fang, Kiss buff applying to just physical damage, indirectly nerfing damage of Ninjutsu).It's a new job , and is very unlikely to be nerfed anytime soon. Because they were beyond broken. They literally outed the top dps significantly on introduction. I'm not saying it won't happen it's just not likely. If anything gets the stick it'll be SAM. Heavy is the head that wears the crown after all...

It's boring if everybody plays the same job because it's the best. When people switch from black mage or summoner just because red mage is better is quite bad. If things aren't changed then black mages and summoners will not be wanted in omega savage. It'll be 3.x paladin all over again.
You make it sounds like people are acting as jealous kids. But so far, they aren't they even gives arguments as for why they think it needs some tweaks. Seriously, don't ignore their opinion because for once it's à thread where people are polite and civilized. And besides, it's up to SE. Afterall because it's à new class it might get nerf once they see the classes got their playerbase
That isn't in all wrong, but at the same time i don't see it happening. Black and Summoners have a few more skills that are more useful then RDMs have. I personally can only speak for Summoners since its the only other DPS class i was able to get into before RDM (tried the others, eh..) Anyway the summoners have the added party member pet which adds to the over all DPS and like RDM can heal and stuff making them just as useful. the only difference with RDM and Summoners is RDMs can rush in to be an extra melee if needed.It's boring if everybody plays the same job because it's the best. Summonsers also have all the pet skills like Ifrits fire claw and the Titan spirit incase Tank needs some help.
