You people need to calm down. I think we got a mix of jealousy and misdirected anger here. Jealous that he's actually widely regarded as a reference for raiding, not as a person but as a player. His skill and knowledge is something a lot of players here could use. Also anger because either A) can't clear a savage fight to save your lives or B) he got a following for doing something you feel you're doing better. To that you only got yourself to be mad about. The dude goes for speed kills and world firsts, he's not the type who's gonna be looking on PF for folks to fill in his group and I'm sure he is a lot less abrasive in a public setting. His team is his, leave the dude be if they're all okay sticking with him.

For those thinking the raiding community is all like him, you only got yourselves to blame for that one. There's certainly a few bad apples here and there but unless you are totally inadequate, and lots of you are if what I read on here actually translates to in-game, nobody will be totally out against you. We can all improve, take criticism in stride instead of resorting to the classics of "you don't pay my sub, I play how I want" or "elitist". Learn to carry your own weight.

It's totally cool if that's really true. I just want to believe that all elitists I meet in my daily roulettes and leveling dungeons are just a random douchebags and not part of that elite 'niche comunity that plays by different rules'.

He has a demographic he knows he's speaking to, and that's the demographic he knows he'll have respect from. He's not trying to speak to a broad audience, and typically speaking, that doesn't always pan out anyway. And even better, when he starts talking about game balance and serious topics, you can more easily differentiate the entertainer, and the person.

Your example involving media proves that point further. Why do you think South Park stays above water, constantly being renewed? I dare you to say it's because of their humility, and not hurling insults. It's because brands work both ways. There's people who absolutely loath anything that's too 'wholesome', and find nothing to respect in unrealistic displays like that. And others that can't stand anything too filthy. That being said, it's perfectly fine to not like it, or think it's not respectable. Doesn't make their popularity or their supporters any less real.

It's really just a matter of what your preference is. Whatever it may be though, you should generally stick to it, unless you're willing to be open minded.

    Deadpool would beg to differ.

I'll grant you, saying fuck every second word does not exactly denote class. That being said, it's just a little some people still gasp in horror upon hearing it once or twice. Regardless, it's all about context. How you act with a group of friends isn't necessarily the same as how you'd asked around your parents. You are attempting to correlate the two, which is fine... for you. And only for you. When you attribute those standards onto others is when a problem arises. Hence the immense push back against PC culture.

If that guy represents the mentality of the raiding community, I am full glad that I have no part of it. People like him makes the League of Legends community look like Woodstock.

When raiders allow people with his kind of attitude, why do they wonder why more people don't raid?
Let's be honest, those who want to raid would raid no matter what. Don't blame your lack of ability/motivation/desire/commitment on others. You don't raid because of yourself, not anyone else.

Chances are it was only three to four regulars and the rest were randos.

Also, what the hell is a Sauasnoo?

They are not playing for farm and safety, it's usually never their intention and it's useless if you already have the gear. They are playing for speed.
If they see something that went wrong that lengthens the fight duration unnecessarily, they intentionally wipe in order to be able to restart as soon as possible again, even if they had the capacity and ability to salvage the run into a kill, because a slow kill is worthless for their goal.
This naturally entails more risk of wipes and less consistency, and that's fine when everyone in that group is in the same boat for that. Any kind of speedkill entails 100 or more wipes for that one good, particularily fast run.

Your complaints are similar of the nature of visiting a speedrunner's Mario 64 Speedrun livestream and complain when he resets the run whenever he made a mistake/RNG did not favour him instead of just finishing the run, simply nonsensical for their topic and goal at hand and completely missing the point. Why should he finish the run, if it's going to be a useless, slow run, especially if his intent and goal is to get a particularily fast run?
