a mindset where i don't approve people screaming at other people who made a mistake or cursing at them or someone having a channel or a guide as a free pass to put down others?
Then I take your reply as a compliment.
The people that he raids with are his friends and I am sure they are well aware of what they are getting themselves into.
Less so for the random PUGs he winds up in, but if he says someone is doing shit DPS on stream and not in-game, I don't see how that is much different from some of the threads we see here and on Reddit.
Moreover, it's probably just true?
Generally random raid party.
1. Know the fight
2. Have the highest gear level available
3. Be perfect in your performance
4.Dont expect to vote on loot
That's my general experience with random endgame.
Exactly. Sometimes that blunt approach can catch you off guard, especially if you aren't accustom to it. But if it works for your group, who is anyone else to judge? If Xeno thought himself above the same criticism, I'd feel differently, however he is more than willing to back the bus over himself. So I see no fault here. I can certainly relate to the frustration when I get players who have no idea what they're doing. The "as long as we clear" excuse irritates me because it often means "carry me through content since I can't be arsed to do better." I've mentioned more than a few times a Warrior I had in Shinryu who died to Tidal Wave five times despite being told how the mechanic works. His excuse? "I'm excited! You guys are being kinda rude." That pisses me off. Luckily, I queued with a healer friend to dodge queues but a Bard in that parted waited 43 minutes for this moron to basically expect us to do all the work for him.I know tons of people who play with xeno and he can be blunt but such a great guy. The fact he helps a lot of players, guides to savage raids, tank perspective etc and so on. I would also get mad if someone makes mistake plenty of times when they shouldn't. The sad part is the same excuse always comes ''as long the duty is done doesn't matter how long it takes'' Or ''its just a game we all play for fun'' FF14 is highly pointed as a big pve game with good story, and pve means shit has to die simple as that. Many often think it's funny for the other people in group to wipe all over again and again.
To make it simple when you are good at something, you want to get in and out fast, not screwing around thinking its okay.
It's scenarios like that which lead to people getting called out; rightly so.
Bluntly stated, some people just don't care about your feelings. They aren't obligated to either. If it bothers anyone, stay out of their parties. I have plenty of patience for learning parties, however it gets frustrating when people who have no business joining a farm party try to sneak in anyway and get carried.

I think you are right as he responded to one of the comments on his older video where someone asked "what keeps you playing this game" and he said "friends and community" he is just honest about hes opinions so for some it might sound harsh(no sugar coating).
Thing, is, people take that "blunt" and "honest" attitude and pass it around. Maybe they want the power, maybe they want cover their own performance, but they all make a run bogged down, when the posturing is done among randoms.
I think it's funny how upset people are about Xenos existence. He's actually quite chill and I've run farm and learning parties with him. The problem people have with him, is how direct he is. He doesn't sugar coat shit because it's a waste of time. People that can't take blunt or 'aggressive' criticism will get triggered.
Might be cultural thing but my whole family, relatives and friends shit talk to each other A LOT and we find it pretty funny, hell even my grandmother do this even tho shes well over 80's. Sarcasm and dark humor is strong in here these two goes pretty well together, tho i must admit that this PC crap has killed humor in mainstream because "muh feelings" and that blows.
That's not "being triggered" that is someone engaging in sociopathic behavior because they like it. Do you know why TV shows, films and movies show restraint on profanity? Even when they're only for adults? It's because they know people will stop watching after 10 minutes and go write a negative review about "a filthy unwatchable piece"I think it's funny how upset people are about Xenos existence. If someone wants to be a respected member of a community, they have to show humility and not fling insults off the cuff. That is divisive behavior and while some people enjoy verbal abuse (on either end) most people do not appreciate it, and will associate one player's abusive language with all players of that community. Hence why the current public opinion of "elite raiders" was in the trash pre-4.0.
Likewise, anyone defending this with "grow a thicker skin" , "grow a pair", etc, you're defending jerk-like behavior and yet are using "safe spaces" (static groups), and "triggered" (private discord, voice chat, twitch) in exactly the same way you are trying to demean people with.
It is not a defensible position to defend any kind of griefing tactic. All you're doing is enabling people to continue to do so. That is how communities die.

One side of my family is the churchy-joe, goes to church every sunday, wine with dinner, has large weddings, you step out of line, you get the belt.
The other side of my family is far more laid back, drinks beer and wine, nobody goes to church except for weddings and funerals, and you step out of line, you get the belt.
Guess which side tolerates being a potty-mouth? Neither. Because the only people who tolerate it are the friends of my immediate family which are like yours.
Now guess what happens when you drop an 'f bomb' in the company of anyone? The look of shock and disappointment, and if there is any children around, they're told to leave the room, and then you get read the riot act.
I am over-simplifying things, but do understand that "PC culture" is not exclusive to any political ideology, no it's quite literately the extremist ends of all corners of the political spectrum. Where you have the most freedom to speak your mind are places that do not punish you for it. The United States may be built on "free speech" but those very same tools can be used to destroy communities.

Since I share datacenters with him, I have friends that ocassionally got him in pugs for the Creator savage. They talked wonders about him. The only thing he was doing there, was just helping people out.
This is so true.
