unless they add platforming its a pertty pointless feature they can always make you walk/climb up stuff. that should be last on the list of things to do.
I don't mind jump as long as i'm allow to turn it off so i don't see people jumping for no reason. Sorry i understand swimming or other stuff but jump just to jump? seem pointless to me.
Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together Autographed By "Akihiko Yoshida Tarot Card Sweepstakes Winner
Grasping at straws. No just irritated this crap is what people felt was the most important thing needing to be resolved.
Oh and I'm sorry, because adding jump to a game is something new?! Just wondering, is this the best "fact" you have to validate why jump needs to be added? lol
When did this game become a platform game? Just wondering.
*Yes, you are mad.
*When did I claim it was new? You're basically saying you'd rather rent a VHS over a DVD. Sure DVD is pretty old but it's a hell of a lot better than VHS. It's good game design, the world's best (because they give players what they want) MMOs are proof enough of this. If you want to play a game that's designed like a ten year old title, go play one.
*The "less is more crowd" eh? Sure is crazy that I suspect Yoshida will add additional purposes to jump, such as making more engaging fights.
OK SE, YOU CAN PUT JUMP IN, IN EXCHANGE FOR NO STUPID MOUNTS! BUT MAKE IT WHERE YOU CAN'T JUMP IN THE CITY! thank you for reading!
What is the point of such a high and unnatural jump with so little horizontal momentum? Couldnt we just have something like this:

Of course.
If jumping is to be implemented, then I want the option to turn it off. There is absolutely no reason whatsoever why I should not be allowed to turn an animation that'll annoy me off. And if XIV becomes a MMOP instead of remaining an MMORPG, I'll quit also and have my credit card backcharge SE for every dollar I've spent on crysta because I bought & paid to play what was advertised to be an MMORPG, NOT an MMOP (which would be considered false advertisement... I wonder how SE would like to combat against that charge?).
nb4 some pro-jump advocate gets on my back like a tyrant demanding that I not be allowed the freedom to not see jump.
You know what? It is too high. It's great we're getting it eventually, there's nothing more annoying then having to swerve around something in the way and yes that does still happen on a regular basis, but it doesn't have to defy physics either. Obviously it's still in the early stages and they've probably not decided just how high it will go yet. So there's hope.
Now, see, that? That looks lovely. I'd be more than happy if jumping were like that. What is the point of such a high and unnatural jump with so little horizontal momentum? Couldnt we just have something like this:

Seriously, a believable, non-silly looking setup like that.. and possibly a tiny little cooldown or animation lock on the end - and I'd be among proponents of the bloody concept.

We had no point of reference in the videos we were shown, so we don't know exactly how high the jump was. That said, Yoshida himself said the jump was too high and awkward looking for him to approve. Chill everyone, they aren't gonna pass something that looks so weird.
