How Would Viera Fit In XIVs lore?

We have a massive continent to explore that is currently generally considered to be Garlemald controlled.

I would not be surprised if the Viera lived in a nation somewhere within that cloud covered section of the map. Just like I would not be surprised if deeper into Othard we came across a group of isolated fox people (in the style of au ra, miqote) who are descendants of the fox guardians (one of which being the amnesiac guardian connected to the Fox Lady fate chain, or related to the Guardian that is part of the AST story quests) who could become playable character race.

The AST 60-70 story is all about helping a geomancer not only learn about astrology, but also help him deal with an enraged Golden Fox Guardian that brought great misfortune to Hingashi and Kugane in particular. The Fox Guardian was sealed away, but the seal was not permanent as none of the geomancers in his family line could stomach the thought of doing the blood sacrifice and condem a soul to be the barrier for eternity.

Also the Yanxia fate chain involving Kinko, Ginko, and the girl who transforms into the giant fox you need to suppress because she is out of control. The giant fox is a Guardian of the area who unfortunately has Amnesia and is being targeted by a group seeking to obtain her powers. The other people (who are likely lesser guardians) supporting her are also being targeted as they are trying to help her recover. It ultimately leads to the Outfoxed fate where she loses control which leads to the Fox Lady fate to suppress her long enough to regain control.
