    I think thematically will make a lot of sense but obviously it could be any class and very unpredictable but... what we really are missing in the game atm are...

    MAGIC BASE TANK - (BLUE MAGE)

    PHYSICAL BASE HEALER - (DANCER)

    to me it sounds just too perfect to be true, this game doesn't need another dps for sure maybe a third RANGE dps but doubt SE will go back to 3 classes.

    Would love to have Berserker in as either a HP tank, or an evasion tank. Failing that, I wouldn't mind seeing Mystic Knight or Beastmaster join as a DPS class. What would be extremely cool is if as a Beastmaster you had a pet from the beginning which levelled up with you, or you could acquire new ones in game but have to level them up.

    In regards to healers, the only job I can think of off the top of my head would be a Chemist.

    That is Warrior, in fact they have Berserk as one of their main skills, not to mention all the other Berserker style skills they get and storyline involving Warriors going Berserk.

    This is not a weapon I have seen before. As Amertrine stated, Geomancer primarily used Bells the most throughout FF history.

    This reminds me of 1.0 where Arcanists had some weird steampunk staff. Their weapon was ultimately changed to Grimoires, but I'm thinking this could be a placeholder as well. And specifically, for a new weapon type. Otherwise they could have easily have given him a maple wand or something. But they chose to give him some unique weapon, perhaps not even finalized. This to me, signifies that Geomancer is it's own entity and job.

    You mean something like this?



    Back when DoM one-handed weapons were a thing, these wands were the ones that CNJ/WHM had. They came in various shapes, that image being the most common, but it looked like he held his weapon much like a Conjurer weapon.

    I mean, you already got what you're literally asking for. I'm all in for new jobs, and I love hearing proposals, but what you're asking for already exists. It can't get more literal than that. Evasion tank? You kinda had that with DRK, until Square saw fit to exclude what made it different than the rest and threw it away.

    BLU can work just fine in FFXIV. All it has to do is replace the role abilities with special skills learned from monsters instead of using everyone else's. It's not as complicated or out there a solution as it sounds. It can have a bigger role ability pool and the equip limit can help take care of potential balance issues.

    I'd prefer something like that to using cutscenes and job quests to learn them, anyway. How boring is that? I'd rather the job not be in this game if they're only gonna go half-assed with it.

    And here's sorta how that would go:

    "Oh yay, we get more options!"
    "Hey, what are the best options?"
    "Pick those ones. All the other ones aren't good enough."

    By giving more options, you're actually giving less option because everyone wants to know what the best are and not even think about using anything else. If it's not in that "best options" list, then it may as well not exist.

    Want proof? Look at your role skill options and think about how many you HAVE to have. Might be easy for casters who only need two or three, but other jobs have options in that list that are so not-optional that you'd fail as a player if you didn't pick them. And even if you try the "but they'll have more than five role abilities to choose from", you still have to stop and think how many they'll have in total and which ones that players would pick out of believing them to be mandatory and how many are they going to look at and go "ugh, not even gonna bother earning that one", all while bearing in mind that pro players are going to pick that perfect cookie cutter formula and other players will follow it no matter what.

    Exactly. And want further proof. Plenty of players, if they see a move that isn't in that "perfect list", will force a wipe to then kick you from the group for "playstyle differences" (which is a valid reason for kicking btw, and it's so hard to prove otherwise that's why vote kick abuse is so easy to avoid getting punished for), and you just wasted your time. Now that being said, different moves could be made for different fights (which have different strengths against different mobs), but then you'd still have the problem of the cookie cutter perfect model being found for each fight and it then becoming mandatory or you have a wipe forced so you can be kicked.

    I am still far more interested where Gunblade Job may be taken in FF14. SE seem to be setting up for it already in 4.0 as it seems the "Guias" Stance is going to be the basic combat stance for Gunblade combat.

    Though I doubt they would include the turret summoning thing because that is more for MCH already.

    Some noticable things when fighting Fordola as a enemy in her 2nd battle and seeing Nero as a ally NPC is how their skills works most often being "command" skills. "Gunblade" skill is also a close range Gun shot skill, though for Fordola it has a pushback effect, as well but both characters are characterized as Tankish.

    A part of me is interested in a Tank Job and another as a DPS Job but there are also concerns how a Gunblade Job may work as a Tank and DPS Job.
