    Chemist would be my number one. I would love the idea of using something like mix for combat and healing effects, acting similar to like... Ninjitsu maybe, just make a selection based on some abilities and get a outcome among having your "stash" items plus a few others. maybe even the ability to consume actually items you brought and throw them at people for no cast time and a reduced cd for rate of use vs the Stash items as you rummage through a bag. The gun would be fun too.

    Maybe, 4-8 abilities 4 of which are stash potions and a stash remedy and then some damaging ones like Grenades, Bolt Plums and such. Of course filling in with other abilities. For the mix each could consume a set amount of TP as you select up to a set TP use threshold, like say 300 (not actually using the TP for mix as a sort of "MP" management type of deal, just the total selection can be up to this amount of used TP). Some would use 50, others 100,150, ect. Traits could include more potent select items, quicker item CDs, Better TP regeneration and stuff like that. Also you would have a huge selection of possible abilities. Could mix potions and mega potions for a higher aoe cure or mix like a grenade and mega potion for something like assize as two easy examples. Would be amazing!

    Well they did mention sort of working on a mystic sort of healer for SB, but didnt use it. Time Mage appears in HW hildibrand quest line, even hacing enough lore in that quest to seperate it from AST as Allagan based, but ultimately just restorative magic as well... I could see a third ranged dps get squeezed in, as well as Tank and Healer. Maybe a crossbow Ranger, crossing tamer and archer from V and having that X-Fight mechanic to it, or do the whole dps/support with DNC but give it chakrams or something. It was sort of the counterpart to BRD in FFT...

    even a rifle or shotgun/2 handed version would differ. I would like to see a tp based healer, similar to chm. Theres always the
    mix" ability too. Though I dont know how similar itd work compared to cards. Probably the no RNG version

    Following up from my initial post, given that i've noticed some of the new instance gear names, it is now my speculation that the new jobs will be from a list of the following:

    Blue Mage - From a mog letter received from pre-ordering SB.
    Geomancer - Involved in Ast quests. Which it is my belief that if geo is part of the next jobs introduced odds are it will be unlocked in Kugane.
    Rune Fencer - The name sticks out from the gear dropped from the level 69 instance.

    Has anyone found any subtle hints referring to possible new jobs?

    Wouldn't mind seeing a dual sword wielding class. The bull of ala mihgo did this before events caused an inability to hold 2 swords. Could call it Duelist or Swordmaster

    Templar - Tank using 1 handed pike and a shield. Possibly focused around mitigating damage to themselves while trying to bolster their allies with buffs or inflict defensive debuffs on enemies to improve ally damage output.

    Beastmaster - Not sure how to classify it. Weapon options could be either whip or use an axe and shield. Don't think taming spawned enemies would work well in FFXIV like it did in FFXI however I think it could work with a system based off the pot items on FFXI that could be used to summon a specific type of animal. It would then be up to the BST to determine what animal would be best for the situation.

    Anyway just tossing ideas.

    From a thematic standpoint, Raubahn's reputation on the Bloodsands implies that he was likely a true Berserker. At least back in those days.


    I do wonder if a TP healer would be a better received job. Both dancer or chemist/apothecary could fit that.

    I just wrote up a whole post that was basically the same idea as Lildragora, lol. She explained it better.

    As for weapon, why not make the potions themselves it? You equip bottles! You could also have them deal with more noxious mixtures to aid DPS.

    Yeah, if that was made into a healer, for DNC, I would be so happy. Could be woven in really well too. Maybe a healer that has to get stuck in near the boss to do its support best? That would make for very interesting gameplay for me.

    I agreed with everything up until here. In an interview Yoshida did state that adding jobs to the game is a big thing, and a big aspect of final fantasy. As long as the game is alive and pressing forward, they will continue to add new jobs. So I don't think we will have to worry about it never coming. Geomancer has enough history in Final Fantasy to be considered a classic job.

    Altogether with how it's being teased and treated now, Geomancer reminds me a lot of how Arcanist was treated back in 1.0

    Point being, don't get any hopes up. Geomancer didn't appear in XI until the very last pair of new jobs after (arguably) many people already moved on/ jumped ship.You can hope for the best, but prepare for the worst and in this case Geomancer not being added as a playable job by the next expansion or beyond is a very real possibility. Don't forget other "classic" jobs such as Blue mage, Dancer, Chemist and even Beastmaster are in demand and by 5.0 some people are going to be disappointed (again). To add to that I remember Yoshi saying he wants to add a new job next expansion that is unique to XIV, which would take away a spot for people hoping for a "classic" job.

    I was thinking that something like a "Transformation Tank" would be cool. Wherein certain "stances" are certain transformations. IE Big shielded type for Tank stance, damage stance something more attack focused, etc. Sure it wouldn't be much different in concept from other tanks, but would work within the framework of the game.

    This also could be an idea for a BLU tank where it doesn't take monster abilities, but instead transforms and uses them. Maybe slightly different bars per transformation as well. Although I'm not sure on feasibility of something being implemented, just thought it would be interesting.
