    From everything I'm seeing with my damage numbers using different melds and food, I'm noticing DH > Det > Crit > SpS. Det usually scales really high at lower item levels. Them as the expansion goes on and our Int increases, Det loses its weight. That seems to be true so far in SB as well, but this is only in a vacuum. I don't have concrete formulas and math to confirm this.

    Are you sure that for 3 targets it's not better to keep doing the normal ST rotation, so you fill your mana faster, so you can do Enchanted Moulinet faster?

    And what about a hybrid rotation for 3 targets? Scatter + verthunder, scatter+ veraero, repeat until enough mana for Enchanted Moulinet. (not using verfire/verstone until 2 targets or less)

    What would be the math behind this? I would really like to know what the DEFINITE optimal rotation is for 3 targets ...

    Do you have answers for me, Garotte?

    P.S.: Do you have a 4.0 guide for BLM? If yes, could you link it for me? I can't seem to find it anywhere

    For 3 targets it's best to do scatter+Veraero/thunder as you pointed out, faster mana gain, higher potency output (600 per DC instead of 540 per DC going single target)

    Thanks for confirming. Now I wonder... From how many mobs onwards is it ACTUALLY better to only do Scatter? Cause Scatter+Scatter may be more raw potency output per GCD vs Scatter+verthunder/aero on 4 targets... BUT Scatter+verthunder/aero has way more mana gain than Scatter+ Scatter...

    My mathskills aren't good enough to calc the "correct" rotation for 3 mobs, 4 mobs, 5 mobs etc, because there's this damn black/white mana involved :/

    At 60.5s, hybrid targeting is the same as scatter with no procs. However, at that point, the hybrid RDM is ready with another Enchanted Moulinet while the unluckyAoE RDM is only at 9|9.

    The unluckyST RDM is slightly behind the unluckyAoE RDM, but the loved by the Gods ST RDM is slightly ahead.

    Best case scenario is the obnoxiously lucky AoE RDM, who is about 10% ahead of the lucky ST RDM.


    I would recommend going with the hybrid targeting option, with Enhanced Scatter when possible, because this will probably work out better than single targetting. The upper bound for your p/s is 10% higher, and it only requires you to be lucky some of the time instead of every single time.

    Note that

    A) Scatter->Verslowspell->EnhancedScatter->Verslowspell is +22|+22
    and
    B) Scatter->EnhancedScatter->Scatter->EnhancedScatter is also +22|+22

    but
    C) Scatter->EnhancedScatter->Scatter(no proc)->Verslowspell is +25|+14

    So I would recommend (A) because it's definitely +22|+22, whereas (B) is not guaranteed and can drop to (C).

    Awesome dude! I'm so glad! Every single person ever was telling me to do scatter only for 3+, and I was like...NOoooooo this cannot be right!

    Do you have similair spreadsheets for other amounts of targets too? Specifically for 4 and 5

    Sure, here's for 4 targets. At 4 targets, even the unlucky AoE RDM is way ahead of the hybrid and single target RDMs.
