I'd say if at all possible crit, then DH or det if you like the unknown. It sounds like Dervy team will be releasing a googledoc like before, but it isnt done yet.
Thanks! Bookmarked that link for the future, and gonna get some crit and DH materias for now. ^-^

I wonder what the stat weights are gonna be for Red Mage. I really am loving this class, it's honestly my favorite caster I've ever played!

Stat weights should be pretty low at this item level. I think we'll see Crit hovering around .18 with DH and Det at .14 ish. SS should be awfully low. .08 maybe. I don't know, these are completely arbitrary but based on my exp with weights and the damage I see, that'd be my guess. No math to support this.

Idk if anyone remembers my idea a while ago about using a part of your combo to spend excess mana before manafication and embolden come back up so as to not have to hold those cool downs but I found a video that supports my hypothesis.

Well Red Mage is no doubt great dps but certainly not in the # 1spot.
Sam and blm are above it.

Contre Sixte i normally use as part of my mellee rotation, cast it just before backflipping basically

I just got Red to 70 yesterday and will be my new main i think

Well the reason it tends to beat BLM in most of the higher level instances has everything to do with the amount of movement required.

In the Lakshimi fight the BLM was able to start really strong with their opener, but as the fight progressed and the movement and mechanics became too much to overcome, so I was able to beat them by a significant amount.

This also happened in Sirensong due to a lot of the Boss Mechanics making it nearly impossible for them to sustain any kind of real damage.

Samurai... well they have been pretty consistenly for the most part a good 600 DPS below me. The one that was able to beat me only did by a very small amount. I am still not sure whether that was due to player skill or not, but so far that's the way its shaken out.

The stronger the mechanics, the more the RDM comes out on top.

Just wait for BLM to get the fight down, and you will see numbers rise from them again. Knowledge is BLMs greatest weapon for runs. I do have a RDM question though. Is our only AOE Contre Sixtre and spamming Scatter? I like everything else about RDM except that part.

It appears to be Scatter, Moulinet and Contre Sixte, yeah =)

Not sure if someone else brought this up already, or if it's too obvious to even bring up, but a point about using verstone vs. verfire under dual cast:

If you have both verstone and verfire ready at the same time, you should be using the same spell type twice in a row. As an example (under both verstone and verfire ready): hard cast verstone, then DC aero immediately after. If you were to hard cast verstone and then use thunder to stay balanced, you might "overwrite" your existing verfire ready or just fall back into an impact/jolt 2. You can then chain them all the way up to 80/80 without having to cast an impact or jolt 2 (assuming your mana is close enough to stay balanced after two white casts or two black casts in a row).

I really don't get this. Don't you need Verstone ready to use Verstone? How do you even DC Verstone back to back??
Also DC Verfire after Verstone is bad already as you better of DC Veraero or Verthunder which has higher damage and increase more mana.
