Other healers are really getting on my nerves. (Discussion)

I just started leveling WHM (almost 62 now) today and I have Cleric. I swapped Eye for an Eye out for that. I also have Swiftcast, Largesse, Lucid and Esuna (casting Protect at beginning of dungeon, then swapping it for Esuna). I pair Cleric with PoM for Stone / Holy spam. I don't know what would be more useful to have?

Cleric Stance is less than a 1% increase in damage overall, even with optimal usage. Eye for an Eye, by reducing the number of heals you have to cast and therefore increasing the amount of time you can spend DPSing, may actually be a bigger DPS gain than Cleric Stance while also aiding your primary function.

Yeah I understand that in theory, but so far I haven't really had to heal at all apart from regen because of Holy stun, Asylum and Assize, so I swapped it to Cleric Stance. (On AST which was my first 70 I had Eye instead of CS.) Let's see if this changes when I gain more levels and experience. Also, I've been the top DPS on trash pulls and was only 150 dps away from the top DPS on the first boss of the Sirenson Sea run I did today... My experience is very limited, but so far seems WHM might be a bit OP in dungeons.

Me as a matter of principle unless I really need something else for that dungeon, because SE will pry Cleric Stance (and DPSing in general) out of my cold, dead claws.

But, like, I will swap it out for Esuna before a boss where I know I'll need Esuna. I'm pissed, not bad.

Eh. I've mostly noticed crap cohealers that spam unnescessary heals then run out of mana when healing is needed. I end up carrying the group so they don't realize just how bad they're, and I learned long ago not to offer advice on a NA server.

I just have an issue with the other healers who refuse to play their job. A White Mage isn't a green DPS, and if I die I expect you to raise me or top off the party, and not continue on with your dps.

You said nothing about people refusing to heal the party or rez you. Those people are not healers, they're DPS looking for shorter queues. I refer again to my 'pants on head' statement.

I guess it wouldn't also hurt to remind folks DPS is like Alcohol...please use responsibly.

But it's so bad... So so bad. It's like a <1% increase to your overall DPS in a full dungeon run. Unless you ONLY DPS when CS is up. Then it's a flat 5% increase. Wooh.

I heal and I dps. I NEVER got criticized for that.

However, when I DPS (as a DPS), I see healers get criticized because they left the main tank near death countless of times in one dungeon run because they gotta squeeze out that one last stone or one last holy.

Like I said, if you heal well and not freak out your tank every 13 seconds the criticism will not be there

I'm not accusing you of doing this but do have to say EVERYTIME i see a healer get criticized for DPSing (ingame) is because they do that (leave the tank near death ALL the time)

So fellow healers have you been stuck "main healing" without being asked?

Yeah I got a not so great co-healer in Ravana Hard for Trials roulette a few days ago. They apparently kept dying (or at least almost dying) to mechanics when my FC mate was calling all of the mechanics out. Like, read the chat or follow someone? I know I raised them once.

Not sure about MH/OH, but I know the MT/OT mentality stems from laziness because coordination takes communication. Because ideally there shouldn't be a MT or OT. Both tanks should share the load and use their cooldowns efficiently.

Well, I'm a SCH.... I'm supposed to be the better offhealer.

But LOL to Cleric's! I would much rather have Esuna! I don't miss that skill at all.

(I'd also like Eye for an Eye back but Largesse and Lucid man....)
