Only way to get a house on servers like balmung. People sometimes want 50mil+ just to abandon a small.

Just because someone can do something that's not against the rules doesn't mean that they aren't selfish jerks for doing so. And buying houses and flipping them for 100s of millions of gil is actually the only way to get SE to take action against you. They'll almost always look the other way if you are just trying recoup what you spent on a plot originally, but if you jack up the price 4-5 times higher than it's worth and someone reports you for it, SE can and will step in.

Is there like official word on this? There's an entire reddit dedicated to people jacking up prices....Just because someone can do something that's not against the rules doesn't mean that they aren't selfish jerks for doing so. Right here, actually.

This thread right here has a video with Yoshi-P saying it isn't allowed.
Edit: Ah, someone already beat me to posting it!
I got a small private house, and there's my FC's as well. Both are fully furnished and in use.
My FC moved from a small house to a medium one this year, and it makes me sad to see our previous plot empty and locked. Wish I could report these so people who actually WANT a house can have it.
Edit: Just checked and the plot is owned by a 'Free Company' of 1 member. Either someone who likes to solo or someone who wishes to re-sell later on.

I support "1 house per server per account".
Just because you can do something doesn't mean it is right to do it.
While I applaud their effort to theme the entire ward, this is just not a behavior suited for online play in an MMO.
Bad SE oversight though. Such a glaring loophole should have been closed ages ago.
If SE decides to clamp down on such multiple ownership, which I think they should, I think the players should be compensated for their lost time as well. (Free subscription for a few months perhaps).
What exactly constitutes an 'unusually high price' to the point it's not allowed and reportable? More than the cost of the plot itself? I'm not being cynical, I'm genuinely curious.
I thought it was really interesting that Kotaku decided to cover this story. It's a weird one for me because I really see where both sides are coming from.
As for the amount of houses I own - a private house and I guess partial ownership of a Free Company house?
My husband had owned one as well, so I technically had access to decorating three...but I get overwhelmed just decorating one.
It may seem unfair, but when these two bought up the 28 plots, there was still other wards completely empty in Goblet, and many not taken in Mist and Lavender beds. To anyone complaining, you had the chance but didn't take it to its to late.
I had a few plots in ward 1 lavender beds on Mateus and I can tell you people didn't even have the Gil to buy the plot from the Placard, so don't be complaining about them having 28 plots, this is only an issue because people move like sheep, flooding a previously small and quiet community with idiots that demand instead of thinking for themselves. And yes, I know about other worlds and population/plot issues, but like the real world, its first in first served.
And one more thing, this is a game world, you can make huge amounts of Gil, it isn't hard if you just research and work towards a goal, not instant gratification. If I wanted a plot someone has, I would ask them if they would sell it and work towards obtaining it no matter the cost. This is why you have your own company for example, people don't even use their companies very well, empty gardens, no airship, no projects, just sit in the company and bitch about everything when you could all be making large amounts of Gil from the things you neglect to use.
The sad thing these days is nobody wants to earn anything. That's what these two did, they earned it, if only people could think for themselves.
I believe the only reply given by Yoshi was making double or more the original plot cost, but this is flawed, because once someone sells a plot, then the next person pays say +1M for example, and then sells it later the next person pays +2M or more, it will just keep going up in price if each person wants a small profit.
But the thing is, if I wanted a plot you own, I'd pay whatever it takes to make you leave, even if I have to make you house glamours or airships, if I want it I'll try to obtain it and thus far its always worked. Don't forget I had to work for it, it wasn't instant gratification and like the challenge. Might seem harsh, but there is way to many self-entitled players here that think because you pay a subscription you automatically get to have everything handed to you on a plate...
