I mained monk properly since 2.1 and raided throughout the entirety of coil and most of alexander and for me personally i really thought the changes we got in HW were needed. But they didnt exactly change anything about the class. Just added certain things for downtime to help lessen the burden of losing GL3.

4.0 feels like they gave us gimmicky job aesthetics and a contradiction to what we previously were. And honestly its put me off enough to change from playing monk for 4 years. Riddle of fire's brutal. Yeah its a buff and nice to hit hard. But at the same time it feels like a debuff to be put back to being so slow again. It messes with DoT timings and doesnt reeeeeeally do anything to enhance on what monk was previously in fact it feels like a step back.

RoE is niche at this point and it sucks to get a crit adlo on you during a phase change and not receive earths reply. Perfect Balance's CD is still too long it should be 80-90s at minimum and 2 mins at max. This isnt an instant GL3 CD it still takes a minimum of 5 GCDs to get all debuffs and buffs up. Comparing similarly to samurai that has meikyo shisui on a 80s CD and Hagakure on 40s and they directly compliment each other and is a huge potency boost for sam. It is a smack in the face to monks to suffer the 180s on PB after 4 years.

If PB was 90s we could use TK on our last second of RoF and gain our stacks back for a noticeable dps increase. Right now the stars need to align for it to be a dps increase at the end of RoF. Making tornado kick still just as niche as ever.

Brotherhoods CD while really having nice alignment for monks with RoF doesnt align well with other raid buffs devaluing it even more. Not only is it under a 1% raid dps buff it also doesnt affect magic or the monk. This 'utility' is severly lacking. It needs to affect everyone to even be worth it.

Not going to talk on tackle mastery. I liked someone elses idea. Give us a proc for keeping gl3 up for 30s that allows the use of tornado kick without consequences. No one wants tackle mastery. It is crap. Do you hear me SE. Its bad and not useful.

If i sound like im complaining about monk it's because i am. Since 4.0 monk just feels like everything has some sort of negative consequence attached to it. Whether its abilities forcing you out of fists of fire, slowing you down or straight up getting rid of your stacks, we cant even use sks efficiently now becausr crit is the clear winner because of the rng nature of deep meditation. Maybe people that play monk for more casual content find it fine. But its not okay currently as it is in end game trials. Yeah it can clear stuff no problem but it has no job identity anymore and is full of contradictions in it's kit. And i complain because i love the job and want to see it return to greatness
