I'll hazard a guess and say it was because it was a tank and they wanted to just finish the duty. Waiting for a replacement tank to queue in progress can really, really suck. Most times it ends up like waiting in a DPS queue except you're already in the dungeon.

It isn't like going through the job questline, or even leveling for that matter actually teaches anyone how to play a particular class... This problem existed way before jump potions existed... In ARR when those huge roaming fate parties used to be everywhere, you could hit one skill and afk your way to 50 and the same situation existed.

I am sorry you had to run into this, unfortunately not having the jump potions will only result in lost accounts. Someone who sees the road as too far and doesn't want to start at the beginning.

Some of the arguments are valid, but at the same time like someone said you can't make someone care. I agree this person is going to have a bad time later on down the road. They're going to get into content that people expect to get in and out of. He will pull and try to main tank but without being properly geared or knowing his skill-set, the boss will turn on the party and people will be a lot more harsh.

Not saying you were, a simple question like the first line is enough. When you use the potion you'd figure that person would want to learn more about their job and read tool-tips. Or maybe that's just me, hell I'm reading tool-tips now for my job while at work for something to learn.

Indeed, the console part makes it hard. I got the same backlash but in the end I realized the same thing I tell others. "Buy a keyboard", it's not that expensive to buy a USB keyboard + USB extender to reach your chair. If that's pushing the monthly $$ for you, then you need to reconsider a few other things.

I've had some very positive feedback though from people who used jump potions. I'm not saying for this example, but for others, it was a lot about how you talk to the person and what you're trying to say. There's a difference between "You got shield oath?" vs "omg, you use Tenacity for melds? Do you not know?! Did you not watch the great tanks of youtube and their 80 hour theory crafting!? It.has.math! What?! You think this is a game?!!" "Your opener is sooo not optimal."

Then again the person has to care in the first place.
