I never said you were for or against it. I simply stated that you can't tell the difference between a real troll and someone with a different opinion than you. As far as the bit on the dev cam goes, I was simply stating my stance on a portion of the OP.

Ok i apologize on that part, however a troll is someone being antagonistic on purpose to flame or berate someone else. I know what trolls are. And my point is they are appearing on both sides of these arguments now. I like this game and i want it to succeed so i'm just hoping this forum community can start being kinder to one another before this community spills in to the game community. It only takes one bad apple to spoil a bunch and i feel that is what happened on these forums. The op was innocent in intentions, sure her ideas are not what u would call fantastic, or even legal for that matter lol. but they were innocent enough and these forums shredded her apart like vultures. Man, i can keep going on and on about this topic, but it'll end in the same manner,

People (including me) are selfish and greedy. the bolds word being what in this topic is all about anyway.

I do love the idea of getting more gifts, but i'll keep to my self as they have already given 13 months, 1 1/2 months of free play, which will become 14 months soon of free to play.

Everyone should know this by now. We're paying for the exclusive content of the even "7th Umbral Era" that will totally change Eorzea and will not be able to repeat the event, a one time only event that will be mark down in history on our lodestone to those who participate, this what get's me going to keep on playing.

And like i said, is all goes down to the greediness that is one of our 7 sins. :P

I can see where the OP is wanting/coming from, but the webcam idea, well just on security reasons alone, could not happen, and a constant update of progress again would be difficult through twitter or something of the like, due to things changing so much off and on in the programing process. So many ideas tossed in and out the pot, some even tried and then tossed.

I fell that the one time story arc that will be from 1.20 - 1.99 is enough of a compensation, even then we already got a year free. Like others have said, once 1.20 comes out, if you feel it is not worth the fee, then dont pay, hold off till an update peeks your interest or when 2.0 comes out.

Many of the players aren't happy with the announcement of the early subscription fee. I for one still find enjoyment in Eorzea and enough I think to pay for a subscription fee. I also love being apart of a game that’s slowly building to something great and seeing what was and what is now. Final Fantasy XIV has come so far thanks to Yoshi-p and his team. But this isn’t why I’m writing this post, I’m writing this post because unfortunately we will be getting charged full price monthly for an unfinished product.

So my suggestion is while we will be paying $12.99 or more a month for an unfinished product we the customer do not want to be kept in the dark any longer. For us subscribers we would like exclusives. During the PS2 release of FFXI there was a nifty little app on the community website called “Vana’diel Winds.” For those that don’t know what this app was or still is (I say was because it no longer works for me). This app connected potential new players and others to a live feed of a hidden camera flying throughout the world of Vana’diel, which showcased the game and the activities within.

I propose something similar but within the developer’s office, we would like to watch you all work on v2.0 almost like we watch sports on television or a reality TV show without the commentary or “drama” just work like you have been day by day and forget the camera’s are there. Set up live 24/7 webcam feeds behind key members of the developing team including over Yoshi-p’s desk and all meetings with adequate audio and video. We want to see the inner workings and provide our own play by plays and speculation. Also post on a blog all concept art and someone who will show us video footage of current in house builds and shows us what’s been changed and what bugs are there and where progress is on v2.0.

We can’t just rely on a promise from Square Enix anymore we are investing our money in to this project so like the concerned investor we want to see what’s going on. If the community agrees with this and would be willing to pay IF they implement this then please bring traffic to this post.

Of course after v2.0 is out you can stop the live feeds, but don’t forget we’ve stuck around and remember us a veterans so compensate us with something in game via items or exclusives? Maybe an open public test server and everyone who stays and pays from the beginning of the subscription fee up to release of v2.0 will be first pick when requesting beta patch testers. Also this would be how you determine who are veterans by who’s stayed within that period of time.

You know, I skipped over this thread for the longest time just thinking the OP was just another piss n' moaner about the subscription fee.
