This last line is the flat out "no". He has mentioned wanting the job implemented, but is all too aware that to force it into a substantially more balanced MMORPG means that Blue Mage would have to make sacrifices on that key identity component that everyone seems to cling to about the job.

As for Shogun, I'm not sure you're understanding the original statement I made. The majority of requests for Shogun seem to be coming from the same people griping and moaning about Samurai not being a tank, and when I say "big sword", I'm pretty much referring to any sword that requires both hands to wield--not just Nodachi, not just any sizable Japanese blade--any sword that requires two hands. Yes, I am well aware of the multitude of other Japanese blades, but I refer to any job with a two-handed sword, and any more jobs like that would cause confusion between the current jobs with two-handed swords that we have right now.

Just to clarify, I'm not saying Shogun is a bad idea. I'm saying that for the purpose of creating a visibly unique job capable of distinguishing itself from all the other jobs in the game, it should not use a sword. That's all on the matter.
