I"m looking forward to Dancer...
I've started taking "canne de combat" classes and would love to see a tank dancer using that style in combat. It would fit very well and there's a dual wielded version of the fighting style.
I never heard of that until now. Looks neat though.

Beastmaster and Blue Mage plskthxbai.
While BLU might be odd to implement because of how the current system has abilities set out, I could see abilities being set similar to how we set bait, but still having to 'unlock' them from mobs.
BST could go either way, before SB i'd say it'd be awesome, but judging by SMN changes, it'd end up being a 1h axe dps with a minion. (you know, those things that follow you, but have no battle utility... like current titan-egi)
The Orical thing I am aware of, as for Shogun.
Doesn't mean they could not or should not do it. Doman gear is one armor design of samurai based armors, much like how there are many variations of western pate armor. And as for Shogun being indistinguishable from a Dark Knight, again as before we are not devs. We lack the ability to truly imagine the uniqueness of a Job. You are also assuming that Shogun would use a Nodachi (longsword), which may as well, not be the case.
Furthermore, the use of a greatsword is to use the mass and momentum of the sword to crush armor and slice the opponent. That much is easily apparent in the animations. Longswords are generally used in a diffrent manner especially in fantasy settings. Often in fantasy settings the longsword is used proffeciantly with little show or hints of mass from the sword in comparison to a great sword which is often as wide and almost as tall as it's user with proper thickness aswell.
And lastly, cultural differences and perceptions rarely stops introductions of subjects or items from other cultures. Have certain elements been changed in the past? Yes of course, but only for subjects that a culture finds griting such as the west's aversion to sexual themes. And the east aversion to excessive violence and blood.

If we were going to use FF favorites, I'd like original takes on them. Blue Mage as a tank and Necromancer as a healer would be great in that regard, I think. Though if BLU is DPS I'd like to see them use chakrams. Or forks and have an expy of Quina be the teacher.
I'd also like to see something like FFXII's Breaker; a heavy armor DPS with abilities focused around breaking down the enemies defenses, using a war hammer.
A ranged class like Hunter? using a crossbow, and have a throwing/hunting knife on them for off hand for close range combat if they get cornered/for finishing moves.
I've also been thinking about Psychic a la FFX-2 as a healer of sorts. Not sure what to have as their weapon. Talisman, perhaps?
Time mage! Haste hastega slow slowga meteo meteor and more!
I think Geomancer is our best bet for a new healing job because if I remember correctly, the NPC who is a Geomancer even has a unique weapon for the job. I never considered Geomancer for healing, but I think it would be cool to have an elemental healer (I guess conjurer was supposed to fill that, but I'd like to see more effects including fire, lightning, and ice).
