Compensation for the early Sub fee

I propose something similar but within the developer’s office, we would like to watch you all work on v2.0 almost like we watch sports on television or a reality TV show without the commentary or “drama” just work like you have been day by day and forget the camera’s are there. Set up live 24/7 webcam feeds behind key members of the developing team including over Yoshi-p’s desk and all meetings with adequate audio and video. We want to see the inner workings and provide our own play by plays and speculation. Also post on a blog all concept art and someone who will show us video footage of current in house builds and shows us what’s been changed and what bugs are there and where progress is on v2.0.

You want to watch a bunch of guys sitting at desks working?

Watching someone developing a game isn't nearly as much fun as playing the produced product.

Wow this thread is going nowhere. Seriously, if you don't like it go find another game. This game has tons of content. It's an MMO!!!! They are always changing and evolving. Find a new game if you have issues.

DON'T FORGET. YOU PAID TO PLAY THEIR GAME! YOU DID NOT PAY TO PLAY YOUR GAME! You aren't entitled to anything. Like or hate what they have. Pay up or don't pay. Nobody made you pay for the game. If you dislike it you should have watch the reviews or waited till after everyone played it and dissed it or whatever.

Some of us REALLY LIKE THE GAME...SINCE DAY 1 and thought that it pleased us quite well. Can we stop this entitlement talk already...you don't deserve anything...they don't need to do anything for you!!!

COMPENSATION? You are getting a year of exclusive content that is going away with 2.0. That's plenty...and most players who actually have staked our ground since the games release last year were willing to pay for a subscription since then...so your whole I deserve this and that crap please...exit your high horse and trip over yourself on the way out.

I didn't see anywhere in Liniont's OP where there was whining, complaining, or a sense of entitlement.

What I interpreted from it is that if SE is asking us to trust them enough to expect us to pay upfront now for something that will be finished in the future, perhaps more people would be on board if we could see what it is we're paying for.

Perhaps hidden cameras are going a bit far, but blog posts, screenshots and progress videos are not the least bit unreasonable.

Many players don't believe this game is yet sub worthy, and will still not be at that point at 1.20. No matter how many improvements they make and how much content they add, there are many MMO basics they simply cannot give us until 2.0. It's for that reason many believe this game won't be sub worthy until then.

No they aren't. They are asking you to pay for the ability to participate in the exclusive events that will fall between 1.20 and v2.0. Whether or not that is worth paying for to a person is another matter.

I think it was pretty clear we are paying for the content exclusive to b4 2.0 comes out. And the OPINION that this isn't sub ready is that a matter of opinion. And the numbers who are actually quitting is by far fewer then these forums make it sound like. Unfortunately, the people who enjoy the game won't touch these forums because of these sorts of posts. Ask anyone that is paying for the Sub or enjoying the game. They don't want to come here...they don't want to post anything.

Many of those whining have also been playing for a year for free. If it wasn't pay worthy why did they enjoy the game for a full year? If it was so bad why didn't they quit? Perhaps it wasn't for everyone's liking or taste. There's a lot worse out there...mostly the people who don't want to pay is because it's free...and they want to milk that as long as possible.

If they had charged for subs since release the community that was enjoying the game and seeing the changes would be thriving. Instead, we have to deal with this sort of stuff...which most of us would gladly pay to see go away.

Any MMO has it's growing pains...and every wise person unless they enjoy or want to delve into the 1st year of an MMO knows there's lots that happen the first year. So for those people who think this is a horrid game...just go away and come back with 2.0. The download for it will be free to those that already have the the current game.

The rest of us want to pay to experience the next year and we want to progress and get unique gears that's being offered and a great storyline to see end. Just because a small pocket of you want this game for free don't try to loop us into that. This is a business after all...and SE has customers PAYING customers.

And those who are complaining...keep saying many? Many is how many 250 people? Most everyone I know who've I've played with since release are staying. So the many retort is futile...it's a small margin leaving if that...most SE fans know their games and they also know and like the fact and most MMO players like exclusives they'll stay for an exclusive item here and there...There were plenty that renewed their FF11 subscription or bought one just to get the worthless Hermes Shoes...so um...yeah. We do put our money where our mouth is.

And you miss the fact that Japanese are very prideful people. The fact that the president came out and made the statement about FFXIV hurting the franchise. Companies over there don't take it lightly when they feel like they've done an injustice to themselves. It is unfounded that a president would say such a thing. Well they made a flop that didn't make many gamers happy...instead of making a game that appealed to everyone they made a game that appealed to a small fraction of peeps. How many games out there have done that? PLENTY!!!

The game is already great...and given more time...I see massive appeal in the near future.

No you're not. You are a customer. Not an investor. Just keep that in mind. If you don't trust what has been announced so far, then feel free to leave and come back when 2.0 is out. No one is forcing you to pay, no one is forcing you to play, and it's not like Square Enix -must- have everyone's $13 a month in order to survive. They managed to keep the game free until now, they definately can keep it free longer, but since some players are willing to pay, it's still better than not getting any revenue at all.

So deal with it. Pay or leave.

By the way I noticed a lot of people who are posting complaints seem to have BARELY played the game. There's 18 stories built into each of the classes. All of which brings about huge set of story content. Plus now all the added side quests. How many of you actually have gone through all that?

I know on my server most people were complaining about content and when it turned out since SE added such content few had even touched it...they were too busy fighting Ifrit or doing Darkhold all day and night.

People complain about leveling too it took a good 2 months to get to level 50 prepatches now you can get to level 50 in 2 or 3 days of playing. And yet you all still complain about how hard that is too...whine whine whine...all I see is whine.

Subs can't come fast enough!!!
