Unless i miss a hidden patch balancing, last time i check my res skill has 8s cast time.IT TAKES THREE SECONDS TO RES SOMEBODY
And res skill take a lot of mana, so if you die in normal mobs encounter you better res yourself to avoid weakness debuff especially if you are close to boss fight, in boss fight? Could be serveral things such as healer sont have swiftcast so he cant find time a good time to res you, or you keep dying so he think its not worth it to res you, or he almost out of mana which really rarely happen in this case though.
Does boardgame like monopoly and snake count? =D its not Massive but it sure is MultiplayerJust out of curiosity what MMOs were you playing back in 1987?
Healer want to tank? How in the world? Doesnt matter IF healer indeed want to tank by spamming holy or such, their aggro will never compete with tank class, it doesnt make sense.
I have a feeling op is the typical player who see healer is nothing more than heal bot, probably even see the rest of party like some kind npc and he is the grandiose main characterI kind of get the feeling the OP stands in AoEs or tries to ignore mechanics a lot...

Sorry but this thread is 90% garbage, 10% salt.I have played MMORPG's for about 30 years
If you dare to ask to be ressed, you are told 'don't be so lazy' and they go on their merry way and leave you there.
IT TAKES THREE SECONDS TO RES SOMEBODY AND THEY HAVE THE SPELL!
In no other game would they get away with that!

90% seems like an over estimate. I'd say 85% tops.

OP, I'm sorry you've had bad experiences with healers, but if I may give my 2 cents...
I consider myself a nice healer and I'd never refuse to raise you or heal you out of spite. I believe that everyone has the right to make mistakes, to have a bad day, to lag, etc, so I won't tell you to "git gud" or something like that if you get hit by an avoidable AoE.
However, it's important to understand that there are basically 2 modes of healing. The first one, or comfortable healing as I like to call it, is when I can just throw a Regen on the tank and spam Holy to my heart's content. During this state, I will still watch your health bars like a hawk (that's my job after all) but I might choose not to heal you because the mobs will be dead long before they become a threat to you.
Chances are, you will not die during this phase since I will have all of my abilities ready to bring you up 100% if necessary. But if you do, I'll keep resurrecting you because, as I said, everyone has the right to make mistakes.
Now, there is another mode of healing: triage. This is where all hell breaks loose and I've got to decide who lives and who dies. Not because I'm a jerk or have a God-complex, mind you, but because my resources are limited, my GCD spells are limited, and my oGCD abilities are also limited. If everyone is taking damage like it's free beer, then chances are my Swiftcast will be on cooldown and I won't have the time to stand idle for 8 seconds to bring you back.
There's also the fact that I've got to do many of the mechanics you do while doing my job as a healer and while helping with some DPS when necessary/permitted.
Bottom line is, we're not all hateful and spiteful jerks out to ruin your game experience, we're just people like you trying to do our best with the tools we've got and the limitations that come with them.
So, cheer up mate. Don't give up on us healers just yet. I promise you will find the good ones eventually.![]()

Healer attitudes in this game are pretty dreadful tbh, but don't expect any sort of support or agreement on that here.
And I'm with you on raising. If someone asks for it, just do it.

Just want to say this is final on the whole matter: Dont like how healers are? Roll healer. Dont like how other people play tank? Play a tank. Dont want to do either? Just stop whining. The last thing we need is to bad mouth or dissuade helers or tanks especially in SB

Funnily enough... as much as it's being mocked and derided, I think Yoshi's comments were intended to be exactly along these lines. There's so much hostility, 'do this or that or get kicked!'...I can easily see why he might think people are getting intimidated out of the roles.
I've already made the decision to run SB with friends primarily. DPS can wait in their long queues and rot.Funnily enough... as much as it's being mocked and derided, I think Yoshi's comments were intended to be exactly along these lines. I'll raise if they ask, but I'll try to avoid weakness debuff otherwise. The short jog won't kill you. I will stop raising you on your 3rd death in a fight; 2nd death if I'm strapped for MP. But frankly, more often than not, I'm halfway to my quickraise macro before the player finishes their death animation.
