Or the glow can be powered by Garlean Magitek, Regula and Gaius both had big glowing sword attacks too didn't they?

Gaius was also able to make himself stronger with some sorta Magitek buff, causing his armor and weapon to glow a golden color. I don't remember if Regula did that but this now makes me wonder if we have even seen Zenos's final form!
Also something I just thought of that isn't part of the trailer, but with Red Mage's back jump attack is the first X-Cross attack we have gotten access to I think. One step closer to Garlean job!
I always thought Gaius' gold armor was the same type of gold plating that was used in the Gilded Magitek ArmorGaius was also able to make himself stronger with some sorta Magitek buff, causing his armor and weapon to glow a golden color. That said, Regula was able to create a Ceruleum Tiger tooIt only took a few heated skirmishes with the allied city-states for Garlemald to realize that the magicks wielded by the realm's mages were too much for even the thickest of magitek armor plating. Alloyed gilding has since been discovered to dampen the effects of elemental charges and is now standard issue.
While PotD is side content, we were still able to view Obdilord's past by using the echo on a item that belonged to him I think.

Not that I don't believe you, but it's my understanding that the Echo cannot see into the future because that is not how it works - it's not actually viewing the past or future, but breaking down the boundaries of the soul, it views 'the past' because it's viewing someone's memories of a past event that has already happened, not the actual past itself (this is why Echo visions were changed in ARR to a grainy washed out video-feed style). If I remember right Minfillia was able to see into the future. Not far future to my understanding but if that part when Zenos just curbstomps everyone is a future Echo vision Minfillia probably could have seen it if she were around right now. Its possible we have that same power just that it doesn't activate nearly as much as being able to see the past. That said it probably isn't an Echo thing but us actually getting our butts kicked.
For that reason, the Echo cannot view the future because the future has not happened yet and thus, no memory yet exists of it. Of course there was that ambiguous 'dark Hydaelyn' Echo image we saw in the 'stinger' scene at the end of the original 2.0 storyline, but it had no context or explanation, and it's unclear whether it was meant to be the 'past' or 'future' (nor was it ever mentioned or referred to again, so personally I believe it was a possible story idea that the writing and lore teams were toying with only to quietly drop).
Also this does not take into account actual time travel though, but that is a whole different barrel of moogles.
Either way, I think it's a little rash to judge the events being depicted in the Stormblood trailer as actually chronologically true to the expansion - the Heavensward trailer after all had scenes mixed and matched all over the place with little context to the actual order they appeared in the expansion (such as showing the player relighting all the Crystals immediately after the padjal magically evoking the elementals to bring Y'shtola from the Lifestream, despite those scenes being at totally different parts of the storyline). We'll find out soon enough anyway after all.![]()
Though lots of Garlean war-machines run on cereleum, many of them fire all sorts of colours of magical doom as well so I don't quite consider a hard and fast rule.
Though I do like the idea of his armor being powered by something like Manufacted Nethicite. The stone of man making its return would be quite fitting for the God hating Garlean Empire.
That's because cereleum is just processed and refined aether anyway, which makes the 'magi' in magitek ring true. Also remember the Garleans developed magitek originally to compensate for their complete lack of magical ability. Magic is just the manipulation of aether after all, and all the Garleans are doing is using aether in a different way, using it to empower machinery instead.

it is most likely Zenos' Gun-Sheath and the katana are just normal katanas.
Notice how it spins before he pulls out the Katana? It is most likely when it spins it charges the Katana with magic energy to give it a magic enhance strength allowing the katana to cut things with easy which would also explain why he could easily break through Y'shtola's barrier.
However, since these are just normal katanas infused with magic energy it is also possible he need multiple Katanas because the magic enhancement the Gun-sheath place on a katana may strain the katana's blade and cause it to shatter into pieces once the magic enchantment ends.
