    /sigh

Look. I get its disappointing. I wanted the Fuga attire too and its out of my budget. However your sub doesn't cover the cost of making the non seasonal glamour items in the Mogstation. To say they should have them available for free in game is the equivalent of saying they should give you stuff you haven't paid for for free. People like to call SE greedy but how is that mindset any less greedy?

Saying 'oh they are probably just lying about it' without any actual factual basis isn't just hearsay, it is rude as hell. The Mogstation is a valuable additional revenue stream that doesn't negatively impact the product that those paying a subscription get which allows Yoshi P to justify arguing for more investment into the infrastructure of the game like, you know, server upgrades.
And I repeat again, posts like this make it sound like it costs them something significant for every sale they make (like when you buy food in rl, when someone buys something for 5 dollars or whatever, the next has to be that to cover costs that went to make it again.) You only pay the expenses once, and I get that has a cost, but selling them for 18 dollars on 1 character is a rip off and too high. If they sell them for lower price, more people will buy them. Hell I would buy the krille outfit for 5-10 dollars but why does that have such a huge cost they do not want to risk making it?

Because that isn't how businesses work. Looking no further then clothing and shoes, which boast some of the highest mark ups of consumer goods goods in existence. Why? People are willing to pay those prices. Value is entirely subjective. What you deem an inexcusable rip off, someone else rationalizes it as a hobby they're okay spending money on. All Square Enix cares about is profit. Should enough people feel $18 is acceptable, what incentive do they have to charge else? As I mentioned above, if you deem it too expensive, don't buy it. That is the only recourse potential customers have. We can complain all we fancy, but what influences change is an unwillingness to spend money.

I am not a developer. But unless you are accusing Yoshi P of outright lying about it and the existence of the person who makes the decisions, without any basis, it is safe to say there are costs involved and what he said was accurate.

None of this changes the fact that player subs don't pay for these items. The items that subs do pay for are accessible in game for the people who paid those subs. These additional items are created with their development costs factored into their sales projections. They pay for themselves through their sales.

The goods too expensive? Don't buy. The gameplay of the main game isn't crippled or diminished as a result. We have plenty of glamour options in game and continually have more added. There is nothing abusive or unethical or even fundamentally wrong with what they have done. Hell, it might even have been smarter to sell it for a lower price to allow for higher sales or at least have sales occasionally. If that is the case they only do themselves out of money. It's their product. Its up to them what they sell it for. Its not like people cant play or are put at a severe disadvantage if they don't have those items.

Subscription is irrelevant in the pricing as it doesn't factor in one iota to the price or the cost of development.

What i would wish they did was adopt the Gw2 cash shop system where you with ingame currency can buy gems to buy items from the cashop. This would on one hand allow all items to be earned ingame and fix inflation as the rich gil hoarders get something to spend their fortune one.
That system would require Gil to become purchasable for real money which would be arguably pay to win since the top level crafting gear is BiS at the launch of a raid teir until people upgrade to the actual raid gear. Without screwing over crafters, I am not sure how this could be implemented.

They could do it without offering the gems to gil conversion. This would just make the cashshop one gigantic gil sink where its either gil or Irl money. This of course runs the risk of the devs making more and more expensive cashshop gear in order to make people play longer and farm gil, but tbh, people are already farming their butt off for loads of gil.
