As for a lack of defensive cooldown, did you notice that RDM is the most mobile caster of the game? He can move after basically every cast, has a gap closer AND a disengage skill, while never dropping the dps, PLUS a decent self-heal in case things go wrong. If you can't dodge AOEs with that mobility I don't know what's your problem.
A blackmage needs Manaward because it's on the opposite side of the mobility range, but the RDM can live without it.

BLM has a LOT of mobility now. Besides, its not exactly hard to avoid AOE as a BLM now either. Its the unavoidable field-wide damaging moves from bosses where some damage mitigation abilities come in. They take a bit of stress off the healer, and if you're unlucky and the healer(s) go down, as a RDM you might be able to survive with your damage mitigation to bring them back with Verraise.

Using those mobility abilities is going to cost you dps. RDM can move without a loss.

If everyone is going to be taking damage, no need to avoid it. Healer's going to AoE heal anyway. Mitigation would just be wasted unless if the damage was going to kill you.

I'm not sure if the move to leylines is on the Global Cooldown, but Aetherial Manipulation doesn't trigger it. Swiftcast and Tricast don't either so... not really all that much of a DPS loss.

it might have unlimited instant battle raises but not unlimited MP since RDM doesn't seem to have any MP recovery you can get off 3 to 4 verraises before running out of MP

There's Lucid Dreaming and Max-Ether (and the inevitable Lv70 Ether potion) that can help with that. But it is a bit jarring that RDM is the only caster Job with absolutely no native MP regen skills, SMN has Aetherflow and BLM has Umbral Ice. Yes, it's true that RDM uses TP for some skills, but those skills are only used once for every 80 Black and White mana generated.

I'm worried about Dualcast's description. It says auto-attack cancels its effect, but what if there's a fight where we have to stack under or close to the boss? Our dualcast woud probably get cancelled. Could we probably change this? haha
