The nail in the coffin for that dream was seeing the live letter and them doing 74 damage autoattacks. I knew the sword would just be relegated to just a few abilities after that. What I didn't predict was the autoattacks canceling dualcast which is kind of ridiculous. It's just put in there to force a "get in range" "get out of range" mechanics to the job. A job with a sword no less.

Couldn't have said it better myself. As I've said in the past, the system they came up with reeks of being made for a caster, and the sword was added later as an afterthought. And it's not like they can make any notable changes to correct that, since it'd require a redesign of the job's core systems: how spells and sword interact along with the black/white mana mechanic.

RIP RDM. What was initially a super cool concept is now to be nothing more than a glorified turret. Your original sword and spell slinging badassness will forever be missed.

Thankfully, I still have a jerb to look forward to in SB. SAMURAI!

I will say that I'm looking forward to trying out RDM because caster/melee hybrids are what I always main in MMOs and single-player RPGs.
