There are/have been items I want on the mogstation and I have purchased them, despite feeling they were overpriced.
I picked this option. Despite the fact that I know things may be overpriced, I buy them because they are things I want, things that would bring me joy. I don't regret buying almost everything from the Mog Station (and I feel this is gonna get me some shade).

Baby, tell me, what's your motive?

Not at all! Do what makes you happy!

Edit: I think most of the shade throwing on this topic is really coming from folks not understanding that there's more than one view point (and that's okay). The value of a dollar may be different to you than it is to Bob, and that's cool. I think it's important to be open minded and try to find a middle ground.

Act in such a way that you treat humanity, whether in your own person or in the person of another, always at the same time as an end and never simply as a means

    I have a mixed feeling of 3, 4, 5 and 6.

I haven't voted because I can't pick a good option; most of the items I want I feel are a fair price (minions mostly...), and I want them and can afford them...yet I haven't bought any.

I can't even really say why I haven't, I just...haven't. Probably a lot of "I can get them whenever, no rush", and I'm a major procrastinator...

Multiple options apply to me, but the one that applies best is not there:

I want the items, but I want to be able to obtain them in-game.

Buying them for real money is simply not fun.

If I could obtain them in-game, even if that meant buying them off of other players, i would be perfectly happy with the mog station.

What game are you referencing? $5-7 is pretty cheap compared to the games I'm used to for full outfits. The only one I can think of in that range that I've played is the original Guild Wars, and that's likely because of the age of the game.

    E.g.
Guild Wars 2: Outfits cost 800 gems each, which costs $10 to purchase. Most individual pieces (e.g. just a weapon skin) cost from 300-600 gems which are the $4-7 range.
ESO: Full outfits cost 1000 crowns each, which costs roughly $12 to purchase. Single pieces (e.g. just a shirt or just some pants) costs 500-700 crowns, which costs roughly $7-9 to purchase. It's hard to give an exact price, because it's not possible to purchase crowns to exactly match the cost of the items.
WoW: I don't play WoW, but looking at their store shows that just a single helm costs $15.

FFXIV optional item pricing is pretty comparable to the market standard for current games. Whether or not that standard is something to agree with is another statement entirely.

I think that would count under "There are/have been items I want on the mogstation and I can afford them, but I refuse to pay for items that I believe should be included with my subscription."

Those helms were WoW dipping its feet in the transmog for cash pool and from what I saw it didn't go over well. It went so far as people getting kicked from groups for having the cash shop helm. It cooled down after awhile, but they don't appear to have put up any further transmog gear on their store. You'll also note that all the WoW items are tied to your account. Not sure about GW2. Everytime I log into that one I get overwhelmed and decide to clean the house instead. XD

I rarely ever buy things from the store so I picked "There have not been any items I want on the mogstation." as my option. It's not that I dislike the mogstation, it just doesn't add items that are to my taste. Take the outfits they've added lately. I'm more into fantasy European themed outfits, so the near/far eastern ones don't draw my attention all that much, not enough to buy one anyway. And the one European set they did add, the heavens ward armor set, was just like two sets I already have from Dusk Vigil and tank level 58 crafted gear, again not worth the money for a minor re-color. I also have no interest in main story NPC gear as it feels weird to dress just like an NPC does (personal opinion, don't mind SE adding them, just not something I personally want to do).

And that's my take on the mogstation.

TL'DR: Nothing meets my fashion sense enough to be worth buying.

I picked the option of there are things I want, but I find the price too high (though I can afford it), so I don't buy.

Those are the prices for WoW's Cash Shop. They are all either nearly equal to or more expensive than FFXIV. Why would Square Enix charge a third of the price when people buy everything rather consistently?

I've bought a few things. I don't mind them having a cash shop since it's just extra stuff. I started playing MMOs in the 90s and the subscription price now is the same as what I paid back then. I am assuming games are more expensive to make now.
