Yeah, it's more like if you went to an all-you-can-eat buffet and you ate 9 cheeseburgers but on the 10th they wanted you to pay $10 for it. And you say "but I'm paying for all-you-can-eat", and the other people eating there say to you "relax buddy, you don't HAVE to eat it, it's optional!"

We can have all the hamburgers we want, but have to pay extra if we want a lobster tail that's not included with the standard buffet. Which ironically is a fairly common buffet practice to have extras on top of the entry fee such as drinks.

It's really not that big of a deal. I mean just in the last couple patches we got a glamour set for every single class, the native american glamours, multiple minions, an amazing mount, etc etc
we get a heck of a lot more for free than what exists on the "premium menu"

and to the first buffet analogy, there are 125$ buffets they have champagne included. 1000$ is a way out there number

This is like calling someone shady because they put out a sign that says: "One Bunch of 6 Apples: $8.99" buying said apples, and then complaining you were mislead because "Everyone knows a bunch is at least 8 apples - that's the convention! Look at all the other apples they have! I should have those!!!".

It's like saying "One Bunch of Apples: $8.99" with fine print at One Bunch = 6 apples. Where the standard is one bunch = 8 apples. Yes.

Isn't this just like Amazon Prime Video where you pay 11$ a month to stream unlimited content, but certain/many films are not included and you have to pay extra money for them (which if bought is about equal or even more than a whole month of "base-sub" and renting [a digital good] still about half?)?

You pay to be allowed to play. Period.

Everything else is free extra, to make it more fun for people to play and pay for it. They can just stop releasing content, they don't owe us anything beyond 3.0. But then people would probably leave after been done, so they give us as much free stuff as needed to prevent this. Also, who would by Stormblood if we would not be entertained for specific periods?
You don't pay for the content updates, nor do you pay them to develope an expansion. You just pay them to be able to connect to servers and play the current content.

So I don't see the problem in paying for extra extra things, unless it worsen the gameplay if I don't pay.

Charge a lot so that the few who are willing to pay will fork over a bunch or charge less to make the purchase more affordable to a wider audience. One of these options makes items exclusive to the Mog Station seem "rare" or "premium" while the other option aims to make such items affordable for everyone as a small additional purchase. I could be wrong, but I think one of these options would be more widely accepted and it isn't the approach they are using.

That is my point and I really think they will gain more money in the end off meany cheaper sales then a few big ones.

For the RL comparisons to this, you can't. It does not cost them anything to set prices. There is no production cost that goes into each unit unlike real life. For the apple thing, I need to pay people to pick them and materials for them to grow and replace them. The costs with digital items is a one time thing , the design labor. They really think they will not offset costs selling them cheaper so more people will buy it?

The current approach leaves diastase for many people where if they made it actually affordable, people would not complain. This can hurt them in the long term. For example, I may not buy something extra later on the road where I might of otherwise, just from pure spite of having these high prices leaving a distaste in my mouth.

Except this gear is worse than regular gear because you can't store it or reobtain it without paying money again. It would be more like getting all the lobster tails and having to pay for the hamburger.

yes. if people stop buying this stuff SE with get the message. But that won't happen because so many people are easy to nickle and dime and they are too stupid to see it happening
