You ofcourse! *cracks whip* get to work you good for nothing man-hamster!And who'll power them? Poor personnel already tired from dealing with the impacts of the disaster? Or get a few horses and cows to run around in circles around a generator with leashes tied to them?
I'll estimate at least 3-4 weeks before the servers will be put to right again.

They should switch to geothermal energy, they has volcanoes, so they should utilize that natural source of energy.

What they might look into is power conversion technologies to at least use transformers or other electrical equipment to convert the energy produced from east to west or west to east japan. That is not a fix that can be done in a week or a month it would have to be engineered and planned for but its an idea to help with energy management.

ive been thinking they might keep FFXIV down not to fix it or anything of that sort but to only bring up FFXI to bring some money in and to not use a lot of power. just a thought. even though id gladly pay for XIV in a situation like this. and i know SE will get them back up as soon as they can as the longer its down the more money they lose and the more players that may not come back to XIV when they do come back online

Back on topic of the OP.. I bet somewhere beginning of April but do agree that even then things will not be completely stable.

Isn't Japan run at 110V ?
from what I knew when I purchased some game consoles from Japan

The power situation in Japan is atrocious, and it's completely understandable that the servers are down until the power problems are resolved.
However, the fact of the matter is that the NA servers shouldn't have been located in Japan to begin with - they should have been located somewhere in NA. The game has enough problems with lag without the extra latency that having to connect halfway across the world causes.

Rofl you won this topic for sure! XD Seriously tho guys....eh speculating is ok but it can turn into a headache. Btw, Mar. 22nd is just a evaulation date to see what's gonna happen. In truth the servers could be down for quite sometime, especially if what they're trying to do with the power lines fail or get delayed or whatever. Also even if they could move the servers in a last ditch effort to save their company from financial meltdown, it would still take them months to get things setup and rolling again. In short, we are gonna be waiting for a while no matter how things go. Hope for the best.
