if this doesnt interest you why are you reading these threads about a computer game and making coments lmao stuff the bsThe first person to complain about "lack of content" in the 3 months after FFXIV is brought back online, particularly if it is still free to play, should be bundled into a helicopter and dropped into the Sea of Japan. Fat head first.
After what Japan is going through, making content in a computer game is going to be the last on their list of Things to Do.

The servers coming down has to do with energy conservation. They will be back up when this situation is taken care of and has nothing to do with the tragedy revolving around the development team's personal lives. It does however affect the release of content patches. Which I'm sure the majority of the community finds completely understandable being pushed back, and if you don't, you're going to hell.

go over board much? =/ back to the topic though a extra week has been tacked on, so i would guess probably another after that. ppl will no doubt find things to do besides this and i bet alot wont be back so i think it will be a a drop in player base which would suck, and brucey calm the fk down again if ppl dont like the opinions of others on a site that is asking for just that why are you reading these freakin threads and post, ppl need to stop being so fluffy soft. The servers coming down has to do with energy conservation. I do not find anything wrong with my post. I was being direct. I don't know where "calm the fk down" comes into play. I can't even understand what you're trying to say in your overall post anyway. lolgo over board much? =/ back to the topic though a extra week has been tacked on, so i would guess probably another after that. ppl will no doubt find things to do besides this and i bet alot wont be back so i think it will be a a drop in player base which would suck, and brucey calm the fk down again if ppl dont like the opinions of others on a site that is asking for just that why are you reading these freakin threads and post, ppl need to stop being so fluffy soft.
The earthquake didn't affect the servers. The servers are shut down to conserve power since that is what the power campany asked for.

So basically, everyone is wrong but you. What else can you tell us oh great and powerful one?I do think it's related. Why would they let SE offices run with electricity, and not let them fire up their servers?
Nope.
Hauling the hard drives from their current location to an airport and flying them out of the country to then set them up in a foreign server farm is expensive and impractical.
The financial sector is bleeding, and they need their businesses to function, or they will be facing a financial meltdown as well, within a few months.
But the temporary substitution is what worries me, as it will take a long time for them to sort that out. Loading a reactor (e.g. one of the reactors that was offline for maintenance) takes weeks.
How did you gather that from that post?
Read my other posts. I'm usually pretty humble and open minded.
I was just stating facts.
You confuse me.
EDIT:
Ok, I scrolled all the way back to page 2 (way stay current btw) and found that post...
I was being polite and answering to 5 people in one post. Not bashing anybody, and in some cases I agree. It's how you keep a discussion going.
Now, let's stop going off-topic.![]()

This is my signature. There are many like it, but this one is mine.

I am going to assume that the servers will not be fired up again until the all clear is given. That is, the Spent Fuel rods are either encased in cement or some how removed. In the mean time the whole area is a hot zone and the focus is on attempting to control that situation. The rest of Japan is on a lock down of sorts until the danger has passed. So given that this is likely to take a week or more longer to bear fruit, I am thinking it might not be for another 2, maybe 4 weeks, before the servers are put back online. Additionally, there's likely to be a few bugs with the restart and this will probably cause another several days delay while the issues are sorted out.
Moving a server like FFXIV is a major pain. If this were a finished black box, or simple website, then yes it would be easy to move. But this is still, for the most part a beta. Thus, I agree with others who would also say, no SE will not move the servers to bring them online any sooner. That is, not unless the move were permanent. Even so, that would also add much time to any relaunch of the servers.
A week, or two? No a month, maybe two. Go outside, get some exercise.
If your not in Japan, be thank-full. No one takes a disaster and goes back to buisness as usual the next day.
Give them time to heal, be respectful.
not for a while I expect another week tacked on as they had discovered radioactive food. And as wel all know from Fall out 3 radio active food is bad.

Let us all hope for one thing. They get the pump system back up and running or some one builds a big enough pipe really fast to supply enough cool water to get these reactors under control. Flying a helicopter over ad doping water everyplace is total hit /mis. In-fact as of today they are talking about venting unit 3 again. Additionally Radioactive Iodine, has been found in Tokyo water supply. This means the lock down will certainly continue another week no less.
