And if you don't want to do any of those you buy a convenience item.
If you want to skip content in any MMO on the market you pay for it. No matter what that content is. At least SE lets us do everything on one toon. Alts are entirely optional.

This isn't abut the HW quests, its complaining about the 2.0 quests blocking off new players from staying, that needs changing, you can't just throw cash shop to be the fix of that, you will not get new subs that way. You are twisting my words around, it is called ignoring a problem for more cash shop, with every expansion this will be an increasing issue if it keeps not being addressed. NO OTHER GAME that I know of does this much gating, this one shouldn't ether, it does not matter if this is ffxi or not, it is called being smart to get more business. But this game isn't FFXI, last time I checked.
Can you point out how much pointless fluff is in the Heavensward MSQ? Because this is only an issue in the 2.1-2.2 patches. If it so obvious that they'll be putting "overdone tedious quests" into the game, why doesn't the 3.x MSQ reflect this?
Just because you don't agree with them, doesn't make those solutions any less legitimate. Besides, the jump potion sales in Asia indicate that it'd be mostly veteran players buying them to boost alts, and not new players. The way those story potions work is that the price lowers depending on how far you've gotten into the MSQ, and how much you'd be skipping.
Of course, you always have the choice to not make these many, many alts that require doing the MSQ many, many times, since the game is designed to allow a player to do everything on one character.

Obviously you don't realize how much money people throw at the cash shop, one thing SE is great at is marketing and they know exactly what they customers will buy.So then one would view, SE puts in overdone tedious quests like the level 50 ones for more cash shop. People will not like that and less subs in the end. Giving people options does not hurt, and not even ffxi does linear MSQ lockouts like here.
If they took out the pointless fluff and actually told the story well, maybe I would side with you.
We are not twisting your words. It's about more than 2.0, it's HW, SB, and everything to come. You're advocating for the story of a story based MMO for being skippable for free. That's not good business. This isn't abut the HW quests, its complaining about the 2.0 quests blocking off new players from staying. Did you even read my post? The majority of the Asian jump potion/cash shop option sales is from veteran players that boost an alt through the MSQ, it's not a way to "get new subs". Over there, new players are just doing the MSQ, likely because it's still new content to them.
Perhaps it'd be a good idea to stop speaking for all these new players that apparently have a huge problem going through the ARR MSQ, simply because you find it horrible to repeat them on a second character. (Which is also a choice you're making yourself, even.)
My buddy who is new is complaining about the many quests to Heavensward. Here's my thing:
When you begin to skip, skip, skip the cutscenes, it cause fatigue. I think people should watch some of the scenes to get a small break from all the battling and burning themselves out. Also, some quests are as simple as talk to NPC B which is next to NPC A who gave the quest.

I'm spending extra sub money for those alts. I don't want to pay to skip content. I want to be able to do content like dungeons and stuff when I'm at level without being funneled through a bazillion MSQs first. If I feel like doing the MSQ at some point, I can go back and do it.

Alts come with every subscription level. I, for one, will NEVER use the alts, let alone ever consider making one.I'm spending extra sub money for those alts. I don't want to pay to skip content. Clearly you are unaware of all the people that don't due to the high costs. SE would make much more money by lowering the costs to get more buyers. (includes retainer costs)
I am auguring on faulty design, several people spoke about people quitting because of the gating the MSQ does. This game has way too much gating and that is a flaw. Also 1.0 did not have the faulty gating.Did you even read my post? 1.0 you could progress as a crafter/gather.
Battle content should not be gating crafting/gathering
If I am level 50 battle, in ilevel 100 + gear in all slots, I should be able access HW areas
If I am a gather with i55+ gear I should be able access HW
I should not have to unlock leves with a battle class for crafting and gathering. (wasn't like this in 1.0)
Having all this gating is a flaw, and people are quitting because of it. You want to support flaws in a game for some reason, we will go on back and fourth forever as of now.
No you don't unless different account.
