Objects are are desired by the many are intrinsically worth more than objects that are not. If you lose nothing, you'll have people who currently own houses who didn't put in work to buy the new ones competing with the people who actually put in the work. If you refuse to put in the work, you don't deserve it.

I think the biggest issue with moving with no additional costs is it isn't a level field for everyone at that point, and Yoshi obviously wants everyone to have the same opportunity to gaining plots. But if one person who already owns a home can move into a new plot in a desired district (see: Shirogane), while leaving a plot behind in an undesired district (eg. Lavender Beds, Goblet, Mist), it means that person has an advantage long before even the introduction of Shirogane plots. They were always going to have that advantage, as long as they kept their home behind the 45 day timer.

The main point of my post is, Shirogane plots will be definitely in demand, more in demand than current housing plots, but not everyone has the same opportunity were we using a system where moving didn't cost.

Your way is flawed and open to exploitation. Exactly why it wont happen :P
The best way is the way they choose, you can move without the fear of loosing out altogether. Many of us lost our plots at the last update when Wards 9 - 12 were added, we had to relinquish our plots at the plot itself, then we had to teleport to closest city, then move into the ward, then run to the plot we want only to find for example, plot 11 in LB was taken in 30 seconds, in each new ward and subdivision. So we lost our old plots and had to get ones we didn't even want.

Now it will be fixed so at the least, we wont loose anything.

This... doesn't make any sense. My current plot costed 3.5M when I purchased it. Therefore, if I upgrade to a medium, I simply pay the difference. If I were to choose a small plot that were valued lower than my current one, I'm not reimbursed anything. That avoids the potential 10M payout while still retaining value so people transferring their houses won't necessarily lose money.

I think your forgetting housing isn't about saving you or anyone money, its about spending your money and being thankful you even have a house at all :P

Also, its possible this move feature is only for Free companies

The moving feature will transfer the personal chambers, company chest, company workshop, and airship voyage status, as well as the chocobo stables.
