There only one thing you can do now Ama_Hamada: stop giving your money to SE, that would teach them a real lesson for sure!
Well the people that post here on the forums are only a small portion of the population that play XIV.Not an isp issue if a large amount of the population sees the problem on different isps on different distances, etc. All I see here is the few people commenting simply does not see the delays. It is very annoying. The support desk and FC chest is still ungodly slow too. (most likely moogle mail too but I need to be sent a few items to test that, lol)

Its not latency at all, its when the dot actually gets applied during the animation. Ama continues to blame this on server lag and latency, when its not, because she doesnt understand even when its been explained to her multiple times

Incredibly pointless, my packet loss went from 20% ish to 0 and my ping dropped by like 10.....how dare they make the game more playable for me if im in the USA/NA region! >:

Just saw this thread and read some of the responses and lol'd hard. Its so refreshing to see a proper IT professional response. Doing a server move and especially from coast to coast put in some serious overtime costs for the workers that I expect baseline performance before they tweak for improvement. All these people who "demand" the servers go up and "dropping game cause my ping jumped 50 points etc" have no clue how any of this works. Let's see them stay up throughout the night staring at a computer monitor while being in a conference call at 1 AM.
SNAPPY COMEBACKS! I got nothing... >_>
Who's the ignorant one here? South America is a special case because laying cables through the most dangerous terrain in the entire world is not cost effective. And that's not even considering the politics of some of the regions those cables would have to run.

Not sure if daft or trying too hard to be insulting and edgy, but here goes:Not that I am happy about the move and do agree the choice of location is poor, but I suggest one takes a look at a world map before coming down on EU players. I'm an EU player and have played since 1.0 and thus chose to stay with the legacy server I was on, along with the many friends I had made. The simple fact is any 1.0 player knows (I'll assume the ignorance pouring out of you means you are not one) that although this move is not ideal, it's still nothing like when the servers were in Japan and people should be glad of this. To give a summary, if you think the server move brought them closer to EU, I suggest geographically educating yourself.
1. I don't care about your ping. You are EU. You said it yourself, you CHOSE to play on NA servers when you have EU servers that are specifically for you to play on. The NA data centers are for us, not you. Your convenience doesn't matter because you have a data center in EU for a reason. You don't get to complain. Any issues you have with the NA data center move are your own fault for staying on NA. Any subsequent issues you have due to your choice, are in fact YOUR choice. You don't want to move data centers because friends? Fine. Nobody is making that choice but you. Accept any penalties that come with it. You are not the target customer with the NA data center move. I am.
2. Who cares about 1.0? This isn't 1.0. We're getting in to 4.0. What the server status was like back then is irrelevant. What matters is the status they are NOW. And now, on MY OWN data center, my ping has more than quadrupled. I went from having 20-30 to having about 120-150. People say it's "playable"? That's nice if you accept being mediocre. If anyone says the game is the same at 20-30 ping vs 150, they are stupid or delusional, or clearly accept a life of "good enough" and mediocrity. Just because others are ok with not being the best they can possibly be doesn't mean we have to be as well. Regardless, on EU servers I get 90-100. NA I now get 120-150. Something is WRONG there, and arguing differently just makes you ignorant. I shouldn't have to move outside of my region just to have a better play experience.
3. I never said they were closer to EU. Fail to read much? I said MY ping and everyone who collectively lives on the East Coast and Northern US has BETTER ping on EU data center than our NA ones.
The problem is OUR ping, the US players on the East Coast and Northern US, is WORSE in our own data center than that of another region. That should NEVER be the case. I don't care if they are worse for you. You did that to yourself by choosing to remain outside of your region. We did not. We are playing in our own region and now worse off for it. That was not our choice. Now if I were playing on the EU data center and that got moved and made my ping worse? I can't complain, because that is my own fault for playing on EU, and EU data center location is for EU residents, not me.

The game's always felt like it has a pretty low tick rate. I assume the issue with bane is related to that.I would wager even at 200 ping I could still do a double weave by prepressing the first weave. Finding the timing for the second weave would be a little different but doable.
The last bane-able DoT will never register if you immediately bane directly after without waiting a second. That was not due to lag, that was just an archaic problem in the game. I had that problem on scholar when my ping was 60's now its 90's and I still have that problem. Its just a problem between the bio cast and how long the server takes to register the DoT on the mob you will see +bio appear when you cast on the mob but the DoT icon takes longer to get below its HP bar. When the icon appears below the HP bar of the mob it is bane-able.
Sprint.net Looking Glass:
Miami, FL -> Montreal Datacenter: 36ms
Miami, FL -> Sacramento Datacenter: 94ms
Cogent:
Miami -> Montreal: 40ms
Miami -> Sacramento: 90ms
Hurricane Electric:
Miami -> Montreal: 47ms
Miami -> Sacramento: 100ms
Montreal is MUCH closer to Florida than Sacramento is in a straight line as well, ~1400 miles vs ~2500 miles.
