Because some people are too hardcore about it

Thing is, this ping discussion is divided into 2 category:

1. The one who got huge increase from 90s to 300s, this one legit and i feel sorry for them because not just their perfomance will drop by huge margin, its pretty much almost unplayable.

2. The one who only got miniscule increase from 50s to 100s then cry about it because its "unplayable" for them. All i can say is, get used to it or go ahead quit, no one will miss you.

You got old customers, loyals.

People who have been around years before you even registered... people who played perfectly fine over there, together; the people who actually gave you this game (by supporting 1.0 no matter what).
Fast forward a few years, and then someone random like you posts this.

It is a sad world indeed.

I came from the horrible 1.0 era too and I agree with what she said.

Changes is hard to accept. especially the one that people got used to for years.
but SE had to make changes people just need to accept them and move on.

I moved from a NA server to a NJ server while living in NJ... the ping change was dramatic initially (200~230 on JP server) but you learn to live with it just fine. the only thing that bothers me is how i am slower than other players when interacting with switches in dungeons.

i still ping 120 on the NEW NA server... so I assume I was prob in the 30~40s on the old NA server..

You mean the 1.0 where the door to Quicksand caves lagged and you couldn't enter or leave. Or the awesome retainer market system where retainers wouldn't load even if you were standing on them?

Legacy players need to stop lording their dedication to a bad game over others. Plus need to stop treating certain individuals like messiahs.

The real question is why is it a discussion about the ping, when it should be a discussion about the root of the problem: the net-code.

All these high ping issues have the potential to be solved by changing the game net-code, so I really wonder why people vent everywhere about the server location, instead of being more constructive by going testify about how unresponsive the game is now for them in the topic about how net-code changes could make high ping issues irrelevant.
