What is the story behind your character's name?

Long story sort, my character was inspired by an image of a random red haired anime girl with a sword.

After much thought I named my character "Helion V. Advensten" as it sounded kind of European/Fantasy knight girl like. (My knowledge on the subject being limited to video games mind you...)

After 6 month or so I started hating it for not sounding cute enough in my opinion.

Finally learned what said random red haired anime girl was from, a Japanese R18 H-game. (google at your own risk.)

Found my way to the site and made my way to the character profile page in hopes of gaining inspiration for a new name from her name now that I would finally know it.

"Helion B. Lasfolt" was her name.

Her name was the same as my characters name. Chance? Luck? No, it was fate. And ever since then I've used "Helion" without fault or fail.

I am very much into astrology, and that along with the lore I created for my character is how I named her.

Gemina (Juh-mee-nah) is a derivative of the astrological sign of Gemini. My character was an orphan child, and her parentage unknown. The name was given to her by her adoptive father due to her dual and eccentric nature, which has led her to taking on the two disciplines of conjurer and arcanist, and ultimately white magic and lost Nymian arts.

Lunarian is a name given to inhabitants of the moon, and is the only clue to my character's parentage. It is rumored that she is not even human, but celestial. Gemina's adoptive father grew up hearing stories of beings sent from the heavens with skin so pale that it appeared to reflect light much like the moon. They were known as "Lunarians". These beings also had radiant violet eyes, and had been given the purpose to counter darkness with their divine illumination. When her adoptive father found her deep in the fiery hills of Sohm Al, the area around her was quite cold and bright, and when we looked into her eyes, the first word to come from his mouth was, "Lunarian". The Dravanians that appeared to be caring for her laid slain.

Megaman fan here for the most part. 2 of my characters are named after Megaman characters, but I also have a character that is not named after Megaman stuff.

That said:

Ekkusu Volnutt -

Ekkusu is named after Japanese pronunciation of X from Megaman X. Volnutt is the last name of the Megaman from the Legends/DASH games.

Rokku Sigma -

Rokku is the Japaneses pronunciation of Rock from the Megaman games (used with the original Megaman and Megaman Volnutt). Sigma is the main antagonist from the Megaman X games.

Mikeru Takeuchi -

Mikeru was named after the Japanese pronunication of Mike, minus the A. Takeuchi is a Japanese surname.

I created Pfil ( Piffle ) at th release of Mabinogi 1.0 back in 2008 and have played her there, in Star Trek and here s well, since then.. Her looks havent changed and her weapons havent changed ( twin blades and a heavy two hander ).. Her name came around as it was one of few that no one else had used, and since a piffle is a bit more than an oh shoot, but not as bad as an oh damn, I thought it fit perfectly..

She's known as 'the Queen of Sheba' in the western world. And her given name has been a common name for women in eastern parts of Africa for the last almost 3000 years.

I have a soft spot for that too. I will pull strings and references to Libra and balance wherever I can.

Luna Brumalis because my man used Brumalis as last name on his charater and Luna because i love see the moon and the sky of the night. Very little story xD If i used my full name without my man's last name , it will be Luna Celestia. It have more sense

;o I have a pretty sad story behind my chars name!

Started with: It seems like Im not allowed to have a Girlfriend/Wife this life >-> they always get lost..
Parents moved away, Friendzone, Died on a car accident, and a really horrorible bitch that gave me the rest.. <.<

So I got really tired of this heartbreaking shit and such so I "created" Unconsciously my 1st char
- Asahina - the name is from the Anime Haruhi Suzumia and halve year later my 2nd char...
- Chidori - the name is from Persona 3 (Not Naruto Lol)

I choosed these 2 because that Anime and the game impressed me so much that time back on 2009!


The Surname Karayami for my chars is very unique! NO1 can has it! :P
Karayami is a mix of 2 words: a turkish word for the colour Black(Kara) and the Japanese word for Darkness(Yami)
so BlackDarkness in english. (It represends my past and my personality)

Because:
I was learning Turkish language for my friends in my job and Im a great Anime Fan since +20years! (also: learning Japanese language too)

Whenever I play a game where we can create Charackters I always choose my Asahina and Chidori ;o
