I didn't like the highlander random name so I made my own. I was thinking of Fionna from Adventure Time and Mae West for some reason.

My wife would shorten her maiden name to kochie, pronounced cookie, for store surveys and email spam. So in ff11 i was a little taru named Kochie. And my Galka alt was kochiemonster.

I wanted a short but "powerful" sounding (but not race specific in case Viera were added) surname for my boyfriend and I, so I went with Reign. And then realized afterwards that someone on our friends list had it so I cringe a little bit every time I see them because I'm paranoid and feel like a copycat.
I also wanted an uncommon but not ~snowflake unique~ first name that felt princessy and girly but authoritative, and thus Ximena Reign was born. And of course I had to pick my boyfriend's too because he doesn't care at all, so Dareios because it's sexy. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

There is no apostrophe in Au Ra.
Stop adding one three years later.

I dabble in writing, and have written a lot of stories. Brianna Blackburne, and just about every alt I have on here, is a character from one of my old stories. As for how I came up with the name Brianna Blackburne, I wanted my characters to represent a certain aspect of the story, something that would define their actions, and values. I needed a name that would be supportive to the main protagonist of the story, one who would keep the hero grounded. After days of searching, I settled on Brianna. As for how I came to use the last name Blackburne- I wanted a name that sounded dark, but at the same time noble, so I decided on that. The reason I wanted to put them in game, is because I wanted to see my creations in the flesh :3

I've always loved black cats (I have 2 of them!) so, ever since Morrowind, I've played a black cat named Stormfur. Since FFXIV required a last name, I went with Greymane at the spur of the moment, which may or may not have been influenced by Skyrim (I think it was spelled Gray Mane there -- and they were forgemasters, so since I love crafting in FFXIV, it was a natural fit!).

I chose my Name Taka due to the reason I love eagles and is the sign of my Familly crest and the name Karasu is due to my Wife as she loves Ravens and suits her personality. I chose Japanese names because I like the tradition and above all the Samurai history.

I just picked a bunch of French sounding syllables. I really like this name now because it's unique and no one knows how to pronounce it, so I've gotten colorful nicknames instead.
Pronounced "Ahn-loah E-tea-john" for the record.

I chose PUG as my first class and I alternate male / female on each game. It was female's turn for FFXIV. Thus, I needed a female character that could KATN in melee combat.
Jordan O'Niell was inspired directly from the main character in the movie G.I. Jane.

Rin is a name I've often used for various things online, and by a pleasant coincidence I later learned it's also lore-appropriate for my character's race. Farodis was my abysmal attempt at making up a "fantasy-ish" last name, which lore-wise I put down to my character taking on a more neutral last name when she came to Eorzea in a bid to not stand out.
(I just realised Rin may actually seem like it comes from Rinoa, but that wasn't the case. Not consciously, any way.)
My real name is Erik Mynhier. The sound of the last name and its odd spelling has lent itself to my character style well, so why not right?
