I Liked a movie called Hudson hawk. It starred Bruce Willis who played a thief that timed all of his robberies with song. It was a fun watch. I kept the Last name Hawk but changed the 1st name to Harlequin as in a Harlequin puppet. Thus The Name Harlequin Hawk.

I would be a bit nervous myself using my IRL name! Erik is brave ^^
Hehe...my boyfriend uses my IRL name as one of his alts...well, first name only lol.

I loved Sea Wolves from the moment I saw them. I also joined up with some RPer friends from WoW so I definitely needed a lore-appropriate name. Problem is, I don't like the idea of my toon having a name that looks like a giant scramble of letters and that's fairly unavoidable with Sea Wolf lore-based names.
Then I saw that Hellsguard roegadyn use translated versions of the old language names... so I made a weirdo wandering adventurer Sea Wolf who decided to borrow that idea from the other tribe. I looked on the "naming conventions" post and picked a name that I liked the sound of when translated, that also fit within the universe as a legit given name in untranslated form.

I like "Elara" and "Hojaplateada" it's a surname I use for my DnD paladin long ago, is also is a way to let other people where I'm from.
Only a name is not enough, you need more info to do more like know where he lives or a picture, in special for peasants with only one surname! :P

I googled Lissandra way back in 2010 (I liked the way the name sounded) and it said it meant defender of man; man's defender in Greek. I liked the meaning too, and decided to use it. As for my last name I was thinking of Kingdom Hearts for whatever reason, and decided I wanted heart in there somewhere. From there, I wanted something that sounded nice with the word and I came up with wine. In 1.0, I have had people ask me if I loved wine (cause of my last name), but no one has ever asked me that 2.0 and onwards.
For the record, I don't drink at all. No wine, beer, etc. XD
I've been a Shadow fanboy since I saw him in FFVI(III for the US at the time), so when I started playing FFXI I wanted to name myself such.
It was, of course, taken.
So I started dipping into other languages and whatnot but all were taken, and then it struck me to start phonetically butchering it until something stuck. Jattou took shape as I started to tune it a bit to my liking. Aveiros just rolled off my tongue when thinking of a surname years later, and I've been informed since that it's similar to the name of a city in Portugal.

Catgirl. I couldn't go wrong with a name like Meowmeow. It made me laugh and was very Henrietta Pussycat-esque.

I am Cron Job. For those who do not do much programming and avoid Linux system, the task scheduler of that OS is known as cronjob.
Why? Because when I was at my previous job, my colleagues thought I kept referring to a sexual act as they never did programming. So, they convinced me that I should rename my character to that and it has stuck over the past couple of years.
