    Exactly. I mean, if people are so fine with how SE is currently doing things, have a little faith in that they might actually do this in a way they'll like.

    People keep bringing up old MMORPG's, but once again, open world content was never the issue. It was that those games had poor class/job balance and you couldn't be what you wanted to be. There's nothing like that in FFXIV to anywhere NEAR that extent and it surely wouldn't be for open world content. Those games also had no "party finder" or even a "duty finder".

    Also, you raise a good point in that it doesn't have to be competitive in the slightest.

    I just want dungeons that make sense! Tired of running a dungeon as fast as possible, through trash pulls and gates, and being rewarded for it.

    Spot the silver chest on this linear path
    Pick up this key for the gate 5 meters away

    I wish the formula was closer to 1.0 with additional chests appearing when you clear the dungeon; each additional chest being tied to some form of objective during the dungeon run. Get rid of the straight line D:<

    (Even raids are a straight line. How fun!)

    I would absolutely love this. People have been asking for it for YEARS and we continue to get ignored Even the JP has been asking for this too. Another thing I would like to see is content like Besiged..without the lag please

    Can't really compare Maps and Fates to Jailer of Love lol, or any of the sky/sea bosses. We fight trash in FATES and maps, not bosses as a FC. Sure, there are like a few Boss fights but that is in no way shape or form close to the force pop content from XI.They could put that in and improve upon it. And there is quite a bit of content to do for end game FC groups? Like what? Cuz I usually duo my maps, and solo FATES.

    I, for one, am in full agreement. Ease of access is important, and the DF is great for that, but people need to be pushed out of the auto-grouping environment more often.

    That said, another huge thing that needs to go is the 8-player party size for most end-game content. The fact that people don't need to find FCs to do any non-Savage content is a problem; the fact that keeping a static going whilst needing to juggle 8 different schedules is another problem. Bring it down to 6 (tank / healer / 4x DD), which would incidentally ease the DD queues in DF instances because DD would make up 2/3 of an 6-person group rather than (typically) 1/2 of an 8-person group.

    Clicking on a node on a new aesthetic isn't what I consider new content.

    Besides players generally want new and "interesting" content.

    And most of the crap they throw at you isn't interesting at all.

    So people can just skip chests like in PotD and Brayflox's Longstop? No thanks. As long as all locations are mandatory to clear on the way I don't care if the dungeon is a Celtic knot but this "optional chests" thing isn't going to work.

    What has been announced that isn't different? THere's plenty of new stuff coming, even new jobs. What am I missing here?
