I am making this post and requesting that all reasonable individuals agree with me and please sign to this forum to show this not a reasonable course for action.

Although it's nice and all to boycott, I think you should at least fully form your ideals for a game that merits a P2P system before requesting for boycott support. If you want SE's attention then muster up enough people to boycott the P2P to make them think twice about it.

Such as saying,

and then not doing so, shows a lack of effort.

Although, I personally agree that is a rather risky move on SE's part to push a P2P system now, I wouldn't mind paying for a game that I enjoy playing. That's my two cents.

Also take into account that most of their player base is in Japan (if you remember seeing those player population charts), so it might be a fruitless effort to get Westerners (NA, EU, everyone else combined) to boycott the game.

I've been hearing that 1.20 is supposed to be close to the finished product that SE meant XIV to be, so I'll give it a shot for two months. Probably not any longer than that, in any case.

they run this game for free because its still in Beta-phase, and what do they expect from you playing a free game? feedback of course. and why bother to pay for a game since you are not playing the v2.0?

Yes, the original game was broken. The new team had a new design for the game shortly after taking over the project. It would have been MUCH easier for them to build the new game if shutting down the original broken game down completely was an option. They didn't do that, not because they needed more "Beta time", but because they felt that the company as a whole HAD to do that for the people that wished to keep playing. So instead they started rebuilding the game while at the same time bringing the old game to a playable and enjoyable state. That is not an easy task, but for over an entire year without charging those who wanted to play the game.

Now, with patches 1.18, 1.19, 1.19a and coming up with 1.20 the game is significantly better. If you are one of those who have been playing the game for the last year with no monthly charges, I don't feel sorry for you that they are starting to charge. Free or not, you obviously enjoyed the game to some extent, otherwise why are you still here?

Monthly fees are begining, but SE isn't forcing anyone to play. You have the outline, if you want to wait for 2.0 to play, that's your right. But the free ride is up. I find the game enjoyable now and look forward to seeing further updates over the next year. Its worth the price of admission for me. If it isn't for you, come back later.

TL;DR: You either want to play the game or you don't. If you want to play, you have to pay. It isn't a hard concept. This is how the world works.

SE is a gaming company, not a charity. They've been running a completely free game for over a year. The game is no longer the broken mess that it was at launch. Like it or not, the free trial is over.

just payed for my next years sub for wow...yea a full year..will get my d3 game when it releases and i get free beta invite to the new xpac... dont see why i should pay to play this beta when i get all that for what i pretty much payed for this game to begin with... yea i accualy payed more if you cound all the crap i did to my pc in order to ensure i could play the game smoothly...to bad even with a beefy pc the game wont run smothly till after the beta... i wont pay for this beta.

guess SE is charity for leting us play their beta for free....

its beta dude...new server,gameengine, arcutecture, maps, even chars..... the producer him self calls 2.0 a new game... stop argueing because there have been many beta that let you keep your char... mayby SE will by some of wows old servers so they dont have to test them and server load test them on us.... the only ones playing and testing this crap atm...you see they dont offer or say anything about beta to new 2.0 right? there wont be for a reason... because we are the test dummys.

i always thought any1 that has enough time to play more than one MMO should get a job or a life or both. so you got WoW good for you. but what are you doing here this FF forum, not WoW forums your in the wrong place
